The last execution in Kansas was when serial killers James Latham and George York were killed by hanging in 1965. Lansing Prison underwent an extensive renovation though in 1999-2000 to perform executions and the Supreme Court upheld Kansas's death penalty on a 5-4 vote in 2006.

Of course he will be segragated. Chances are he will be locked up 23 hours a day for a very long time, 25 to life I guess.

I would imagine the victims kids will give compelling testimony in 25 years when he comes up for parole. Growing up without a mom. Missed graduations weddings things like that.

I would imagine he will be pretty old when he walks out of prison, pretty god dam old!

OK, I figured it out finally after much consternation. It's 20 to life (20 years before possibility of parole) for the felony murder, plus about five years for the criminal discharge at an occupied dwelling.
