Are you serious? We were buried in the basement of the "MALL". (I use that term loosely) People had a hard time finding our office. The walk in traffic was nil. I've been working on getting us out of the mall since I have been here....and like anything w/ the military it takes awhile. We have a pretty good location with a great new office. I agree with KSgrainman on the cold that day. From the time I left home until I left the gravesite I was not to bad, but once we left Ford cemetery, I have never been so cold in my life.
I was glad to be there to support the family,but just wish it would have been for a different reason.
The way the people of Dodge and surrounding area honored us as we road by made me feel guilty. I felt like we were taking honor away from Chris.

I didn't make it to the cemetary but I was at the funeral and it was beautiful. All the Soldiers and PGR were amazing. Thank you for being there for the family, I know it helped them through their tragic time.

Sure, you can have a whole bag of pens....

I ride with the patriot gaurd and am in Local law enforcement. My son is 14 years old and plays a mean trumpet. I know it can be difficult to find someone to play taps at funerals. He has done a couple and can also do Amazing Grace, Played it at my moms funeral. If you know someone who may need him pm me. He doesnt charge anything and I will take him about any where close to do it. I am an army brat, and anything me or my family can do to support our troops we will be more than happy to help.

justme, that is a nice offer. Many of the small area towns have resorted to recorded Taps now.I am sure many would be interested in having your son there. One thing you for sure you might check into is the Echo Taps that is done in late spring. If you contact Army_Strong on here I am sure he will get you and your son in touch with his wife at the Veterans Cemetary at Ft. Dodge, and she will let you know when it is. Thanks again for what you do.

Active military services have always had their own buglers, but Veterans from other wars and peace time don't. Fewer and fewer WW II and Korean era Vets around now. justme your son will fill a need, and I and the PGR will be honored to stand with him anytime, anywhere when invited.
