| Peace Officers Memorial Day May 15th is Peace Officers Memorial day. Flags are to be flown at half mast in rememberance of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice to ensure our safety. I want to thank each and every former, current and soon to be law enforcement personel. The sacrifice you make will never truly be recognized. Too many times it is the worst of the lot that make the spotlight. Many people do not realize the pressure, the sacrifice and emotional turmoil that comes with wearing the badge. Many do not realize just how it takes a toll on you. How you are supposed to go home after seeing a person turned into a pile of mush after being in an accident. How you are supposed to explain your day at work when you had to cut down an inmate who hangs themself. How if you catch the bad guy somehow it is YOUR fault they got caught. All of us can tell you the horror stories.........but we can also tell you the good ones. We can each tell you how we changed once we had to wear that badge, and how the world changed in our eyes. How our friends suddenly became distant. How our families suffered because of our work. It is true, the badge is heavier than it looks. So to each of you on this day...........I want to say thank you. Dutchman

I agree! It is a great career with a lot of responsibility! I have total respect for all law enforcement officers, I couldn't do their job everyday. I hear about things my husband has to deal with every day and I wouldn't want to do a lot of what he tells me about! Way to go officers!!! |

| I would never have the control to be a police officer. I've seen people some really stupid thoughtless acts that I'd just have to beat the crap out of. I tip my hat to all those officers who do a job I could never do, and all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice to Serve and Protect.

| thanks to all the men and women (and their families) for the dedication and determination to protect me and my family. You are so many times berated and hated but I will always think of you as a gift. You and all those that have passed before you are in my thoughts and prayers. |

| That's better than "half assed", Dutch!! ![]() My hats off to all the men in uniform. I'm like Detector, it would be a very tough thing to handle at times. I have ridden with some officers and been through some training, and that was enough for me. Thanks Ladies and Gentlemen! |
