    New dance club in town

idk if this is the right place to post my concern non-the-less here it is. i guess the old neon nights location has opened back up. they are allowing 18 and up and have no cover charge!! over the past few weeks it has become a safe haven for minors to go. they have little or no security. a co-worker went there last week and was "asked" his age, at the door. thinking it was a joke he said "22". they let him in, no charge, no "x" marks on his hands. 2 things. 1, how are they making revenue with no cover charge? 2, shouldn't it be a private club since it doesn't have a kitchen (forcing it to be a 21 and up private club with membership only)? if any of you know a LEO please pass the concern, its a big problem waiting to happen. p.s. my co-worker went there to "backup" a buddy that thought we was gonna get jumped by some dccc kids.

  2. Sounds like a good place for the city to make some additional revenue.

I gotta ask - why would someone go somewhere if he was concerned he might get his butt kicked? Isn't that just sort of adding to the issues? My other question is - would you be willing to die for your buddy? Cause that's perhaps what he asked you to do. Think about it.

You could actually go to the PD and talk to them - just a thought.

Some scary stuff in that post. I do altho have an old Neon nights T shirt that I'll sell ya cheap!! (I got mine the hard way - ;))

Welcome to DB - I don't think I have seen you before and just wanted to say howdy, stay safe, and welcome to DB

the fact that this kid and his friends went there to even the fighting odds is not surprising to me. the complete disregard for everyones safety and complete lack of following the laws by that establishment is why i decided to post. back in my neon night days, when someone called 911, they weren't ever a couple of blocks away. it took a while. those memories are too clear and too scary. i know i won't go there now.

oh, and thanks for the welcome. iv'e been a long time reader just never posted.

  5. I would bet the PD is pretty in-tune with their opening and the clientèle. Altho it's never a bad idea to do your own follow up. I always saw PD around Neon's. Course I saw a whole lot more PD when things got crazy.

Again - welcome and post often!!! Glad your co worker didn't get the snot kicked out of himself!

OK so it's an el nixe on the T shirt...............can't say I didn't try!!! Ya know with the economy and all - I'm thinkin outside the box!

first off the establishment I believe can run one year with a non membership license; however I haven't been in the bar business for some time so I am not sure that still applies. I can't believe anyone would want to open up a new club. Everyone thinks being in the bar business is so much fun but it is not.
    Keep it simple.....
