I think Bulldog is saying it was a "security" company and not a LEO at all.
My question is did they have a gun? Course down here that's the seperation between a serious Security officer and a non serious one. Then again - why should Walmart pay a LEO $25.00 and hour when he can hire a security company for 12.50? (Lots of security are retired cops, some are cop wanna be's, some are cadets that just for some reason didn't make it thru academy, some are just good citizens with a sense of justice , some of course are jerks and eventually will get canned for trying to shag the cashier in the break room. Ya don't really need a "cop" - many a "guard" has lost thier life trying to protect the folks for that 12.50.
Could be you don't have enough cops to work side jobs - could be a cost saving measure by walmart, could be walmart pissed someone off and they didn't want to renew the contract, could be LEO don't want to work walmart cause there are better paying sidejobs elsewhere - which takes me back to not having enough cops.
There - a complete circle of thought!!;)
In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot.
