What a start for Fathers Day. We got woke up at 4:00am by the rattling of our windows by the music from a party a block away. I went outside and could hear the accordion and people hooting and hollering as if it was next door. We call dispatch, twice, and was told there was no one to handle the call right now. Here it is 5:40am and no one has showed up.

Guess I should just join them.

In that span of time you could have driven to the PD and found a cop - That's a damn shame.

Would PD give that same response if they knew you were recording the conversation on your end? If I were a department head, I would want to know so problems in the department could be addressed.

I don't blame the PD. I understand priorities, and we were told there was 2 emergencies at the time. What I don't understand is I'm sure this had been going on all night. I woke up around 12:00am and heard the same noise, but often people going through the drive at Wendy's will play loud music. This house is next to Wyatt Earp. Surely an officer driving down Earp would have known it was a violation.

We heard on the scanner that an officer was headed to our address and the music stopped at the same time. Perhaps they have a scanner as well? Anyway, the officer came to our house and told us we need to turn our music down. LOL.

By your first post - I thought that the first post was the whole story. Thanks for filling it in. Course you needing to turn down your music is sort of priceless.;)

I think you can still make a complaint if you so choose. I'm not sure if they follow up on stuff like that but if it happens again it would be on record.

Detector, im not sure where you live but I woke up at 4 am to this awful BOOM BOOM music too. I tried to go back to sleep but the more I heard it, the madder I got...I was thinking it was just a car in the neighborhood but it never left. Finally got up and not in the best of moods to start my day either lol! WHY PEOPLE? THAT IS SOOOO FREAKING INCONSIDERATE!! Honestly what makes people THAT rude that they have no care in the world to wake up children, elderly people, sick people in the middle of the night to early morning??? Bunch oF JERKS!

I thought I had a rough start to my morning with the kid screaming at 6. I would not have handled a loud party as well as you did. Next time it happens just tell dispatch that you will walk down to the partly with your gun and tell them to turn the music down yourself. That should get quicker action from the PD.
