Update - ***** Smith and her irresponsible son have decided not to pay the veterinarian bill for the dog.

How can that be right?

Does the Ford County Sheriffs Office make a policy of hiring ******** like the Smiths?

That is just wrong. I hope the gentleman that had the dog sues the crap out of those people. I was told that they had the Sheriff Officer take the vet bill over to the peoples house and they refused to the Sheriff Officer is that true? If so that took some balls and also gave that guy some good ammo for court. Well I wish that guy all the luck in the world because he deserves it after all him and his family has been put through.

Yes, they stuck a stick in the family's eye by refusing to pay vetertinarian bill. Romor is that this situation is a snowball rolling rapidly downhill, gaining speed and size. I will enjoy hearing that the snowball has steamrolled these people.

I know that offers of money for attorney fees have come from 3 sources.

Looks like I'm the only doG awake this morning.

I hope those bad doGs get better control and supervision; otherwise, they'll likely endup on death row.

The dogs will eventually suffer their owners stupidity. With any luck the owners will also pay a hefty financial penalty.

Should the doG's owners not have liability coverage the only recourse would be small claims court. Though doGs are higher in God's eye, that doesn't make them higher in man's eye; so don't look for a huge settlement for pain, suffering or wrongful death.

When this first started I said "small claims"............ it's the only way to get your money back. There is no pain and suffering allowed - I'm not so sure that I still wouldn't try for just a civil suit if they can afford an attornery. In the civil suit they can claim pain and suffering.

Course I'mnot sure how I feel bout claiming pain and suffering on a pooches life when the Goldman's and Brown's had to resort to this for thier childrens loss of life with OJ .......... just doesn't seem in the same arena to me.

A judge could altho mandate that the animals are vicious and pose a threat to the community and have them "put down"............ then everyone would be in pain and suffering........... this is a pretty much "no win" situation. The rot's owners should have paid the bill - but it makes me think that since NUTHING has been done regarding the 2 rots that for some reason they are not considered a threat......... did the other dog wonder into thier yard? I know the story on here says no........ but are we so sure???

Is it because they are not considered a threat or because the owners have connections? The fact the rotts have killed this dog and all but killed another neighbors dog should answer that question.

The rotts came in to this families yard and killed it. Woody was left by the rotts in the ditch of Woodys owners house.

The refusal to pay the vet bill was a show of power not one of innocence.

Yes some people are above the law and some don't mind flaunting it.

What is the normal process for this type of situation? Do they impound the dogs?

If they had killed my dog they would have all ready been impounded by the grim reaper.
