| I listened to the recording and don't really believe Bennish was all that out of line to question this (or any) Government in a Geography class cuz borders are politically defined; as per the olden days when rivers, mountains and oceans limited travel. Modern geography should include foreign influences along with a good look at ancient maps; and the reasons why the borders have changed.

| More free speech TexKan, I've read the class he was teaching a class called "Human Geography," whatever that means. If so, don't you think discussions on "human" behaviuor was warranted? And who determines geography, anyway? Anyway, to not include all of the information for a discussion e.g. that student who taped the lecture, is misleading. I once had a psychology teacher who, to gain our disruptive attention, shouted "God (doG?) is dead." Later, some of the students whose parents were on the school board, tried to get him fired. He was upheld, and that was way back in 1966! Glad we got to think for ourselves a bit back then. Being challenged to "lock step" thinking can't be all bad. Just defend yourselves with facts, is all. And so it goes... |
