I dont really consider myself bigoted... or for that matter predgious.....and I am truely sorry about the cheap shot. at someone else's expense...that will never happen again....I truely have the utmost respect for all races.... military dependent for 37 years... My father did not tollerate raceism....nor did my first husband.... not from anyone...so... very very sorry for the poor judgement on my part..

Tex....I was raised in the south also..... My mom from KY...Dad from Ms....I even picked cotton back in the day when we were home on leave.....only lasted one day.... picked all day...and went and bought me a pack of cigarettes.....and a R O C cola (RC for those not from the south)... I dint' go back the next day....but I didnt' have to..... just wanted to be with my black friends... They.... on the other hand ....HAD to go back..... to be able to buy balogna and a box of crackers...That is the God awful truth...
They had it bad then .........and they still have it bad.......here in the south....I had been away for years, and I am shocked that some have not progressed in all this time....but they have been displaced by Illegals here also...

Thats why I said something about PLANTATIONS..... I am appalled and have not figured out why...... the black leaders , have not raised holy hell about that....That to me ...would be an insult....because its in your face everyday

Yes, she is entitled to her thoughts but if those thoughts become racist then they should be kept to themselves. Actually she is the least bigoted person I know............... She is altho very outspoken. If you disagree with her........... use your bad rep button and move on. It's not about disagreement with her position it's the comments she made and how she presented them.What Wezzie wrote was said in jest...... Ms McKinneys comments were not jestful at all...... in fact this is not the first time she has gone to the racial rodeo............ If your gonna mount the bull ya gotta be able to take the ride............ I think ya got Wezzie all wrong - she's not one that flies the Confederate flag or belongs to Arian Nation. She altho lived thru the temptous 50's and 60's. Bigot is not a term that would describe Weezie...I never said Weezie was bigoted I just said that her comment was bigoted.... but it is one that obviously describes Ms McKinney

Thanks! I don't think you are bigoted Weezey...truth is I think we all carry some bigotry inside of us. My thing is suppose we had people on this board who are black...(we don't and I don't wonder why...lol)...do you think that comment would have offended or hurt them? My answer would be yes. I grew up in a racist area and have overcame that for the most part being in the Military. Your posts are both interesting and add a lot to the conversation! Thanks.

Boy Army....... you would go crazy livin round the hood!!........ I don't think anyone is bigoted by nature....... just by experience. It's still much ado bout nuthin to me. The topic is McKinney........ We can all pull our military career outta the closet - but the military didn't teach me to be unbiased toward blacks. The caregiver and her family that lived with us (including her daughter, illeget grandchild, and husb she shot 4 times ) did. Hell man my life was the hood at times........... It was all good solid foundation....... to speak my mind, not be scared of a little contreversy, and to not be offended when a fool like McKinney tries to make me feel it's my fault that she is a nappy hair stupid congresswoman playin the race card.

PS...... glad you survived your upbringin........... you should always speak your mind....... but you otta know you can't save the world....... BTW...... there may very well be lots of black DB members. Not everyone that belongs is a poster. Just a thought of non bigotry from me to you. How do you know we don’t? Just because no one has come out and said doesn’t make it so. One of the great things about a forum like this is someone can post their thoughts without having to state their skin color, sex or background unless they choose to. I like to think MLK’s dream is a reality here. One can be judged by the content of their character instead of the color of their skin if they simply leave that detail out of conversation.

You are correct! It's good to be anony...anonym...anonim...go without anyone knowing what color and such on here. I was just trying to point out that particular comment had racial overtones. The more diverse our board is the better for all of us because the more viewpoints we have the better. I would love to get some hispanics viewpoint's on what is going on right now. I too am against minorities using their race as an excuse or to do what Mckinney has done..it's just plain stupid. Sharpton, Jackson, Farrakahn, all exploit the black people. We live in a politically correct society unfortunately where we can't stand up for what is right. That is NOW why we have criminals marching in the streets waiving flags from other countries and DEMANDING more rights/benefits......ugh
