I can understand your disappointment Wordy. One less Republican to smear and kick around.

What’s that old saying? When life hands you sour grapes, make whine.

Ya know he's still purty popular fella round here......... we still love him....... I think he's tired of bein a target........ when folks do what they feel is right and get hammered........ they get tired of the treatment. Same folks treatin him bad will be payin him money instead........ not at all a bad decision. He accomplished a hell of a lot for Texas...... and he's thought of fondly for the most part.........

There you go…. Do you guys ever listen to yourselves? Fundies, Neo-Cons, you guys all sound like a single minded broken record. Everywhere I read left-wing bloviating it’s all the same. It’s like you all go to moveon.org for your talking points and marching orders and then go out like little socialist drones to spread the word. But the real topper is accusing others of not thinking for ourselves when you all sound alike.

Sometimes I just can't help laughing at a dancing bear I see across the street...

Quote:
Bush critics behave like Goldilocks

BY JONATHAN GURWITZ
San Antonio Express-News

Listening to criticism of U.S. foreign and national security policy is frequently an exercise in reinterpreting the fairy tale of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

In the traditional telling of the tale, Goldilocks encounters items in the bears' house that are either too hot or too cold, too hard or too soft, until ultimately encountering things that are just right.

In the contemporary political adaptation, the United States sometimes displays imperial arrogance but at other times doesn't exhibit enough international leadership. Some U.S. policies go too far in advancing national security; other policies don't go far enough.

Rarely, however, do critics find or propose an American approach that's even remotely right, as the debates about American ports and the fight against fascism in Iraq demonstrate.

Goldilocks-ism often is merely repackaged anti-Bushism.

Last August, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., co-authored a commentary in USA Today that condemned President Bush for -- I kid you not -- being too passive in confronting the threat posed by weapons of mass destruction falling into terrorist hands. Instead of Bush's "hands-off," multilateral approach to Iran and North Korea, otherwise known as the other two-thirds of the ridiculed axis of evil, the two Democratic leaders proposed a unilateral program of "carrots" combined with an old-fashioned, American "big stick."

Mama Bear Pelosi, however, voted against the 2002 commitment of pressure that was most likely to produce results in Iraq.

And sometimes, Goldilocks-ism reveals intellectual dishonesty along with an underlying case of unprincipled, partisan hypocrisy.

Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., appearing in January on ABC's "This Week With George Stephanopoulos," called the Bush administration's program to eavesdrop on communications between individuals in the United States and suspected foreign terrorists "a clear violation of the law."

Stephanopoulos asked, "If you think this is a clear violation of the law, why not move to cut off funding for the program?"

"That's premature," Kerry responded, which is at least as unscrupulous as voting for funding a war before voting against it.

In the fairy-tale world, of course, the three bears ultimately confront Goldilocks, who -- depending on which version you read -- meets a gruesome end or escapes into the woods.

In the far stranger world of politics, however, those afflicted with the Goldilocks Syndrome vacillate between one extreme of criticism and another without having to provide a solution that's right.

Ah there you go again Highway. Or should I say Mr. Pot calling the Kettle black?

You read just like you've been listening to Rush and Bill and repeating what they want you to like a good little drone.

You do just like they do when you only read what you want to and repeat the things that you think make your point.

Anyone who really pays any attention shouldn't need to have this actually spelled out for them but I'll type slowly this one time just for you.

Fundies are indeed a HUGE part of the problem we currently find ourselves in but notice the word "part" I've used. The Ultra Left wing are equally a part of it. Extremes of ANTYHING are bad.

Unfortunately, the extremes are what have us all by the balls right now and I shouldn't have to remind you that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely and all that.

The ultra right wing is in power so all the evils are their fault whether they have actually caused any of it doesn't matter. They have the power and they aren't fixing it. With all that there's plenty of corruption going on with the party to help point out the problem.

There's no balance hence there IS a problem.

But you go back to closing your mind and your view and you too can stay part of the problem.

Yup wordy, you're right. Politics is different than the real world; like when the neighhbor's kid's ball shows-up in your yard.....

Before you give it back, you're supposed to fix any leaks, clean it, inflate it and include a warranty.
