Neil Young writes about how he feels and sings those words. He calls things as he sees them. He's been doin this for a while now. If you like what he sings, buy his album, if not when you're looking for new music pass on his. Freedom of speech. I'm sure if you were standing around the water cooler and said "we should impeach the president" you wouldn't get fired. Hell i've heard dumber things where i work. Folk singers will write what they feel. Songs that mean something instead of this pop music crap nowadays.

Yes I did confuse the two. Silly me........ had I of seen YOUNG when I was reading...... I was just reading the lyrics. Of course........... I can see that of YOUNG......... I was just surprised that it could have been Diamond...... he's never been THAT political or public about it......... to my memory. Course everyone jumped on the Vietnam thing...............

The water cooler is off limits for the most part. I was trained in politics at the state level. You don't take politics to work........... and since that is where the water cooler is............... nope......... no politics at work. Course when ya work with 10,000 other folks ya do have to keep your politican at home or on the bumper of your car. Drifter ya must work ina small place or ya must own your own place......... down here it will get ya thumped real quick if ya take that nonsense to work............ just the difference tween your employer and mine..........

Wordy, in a cnn(could be wrong on the network) interview the reporter asked, won't people say, oh he's just canadian? Neil said, he has lived in america for many years, and paid american taxes for all those years, has an american wife and american kids.

Army, have fun at that shakira concert...i watch her videos on mute. Looks good with the hip moves and all, but the music aint for me.

For what it's worth...I'm just not a neil young fan but I do like music from that era. I LOVE Joplin and Joe Cocker. I like pretty much all music. I just don't patronize people that try to destroy our country during a time of war. I doubt if the 3000+ people that died at the WTC would be very big Neil fans... I had Dixie Chicks tickets about 3 years ago or so and when they started opening their mouths I rid myself of the tickets and the chicks. It's great that soldiers die so Neil can promote his cause...God bless freedom of speech. Maybe Neil should sing about that.

I'm with AOO. IMO the obvious difference between Neil Diamond and Niel Young is at least Diamond has a voice. I've always put Neil Young in the same category as the Stones and Grateful Dead. I think their lyrics are ok but their music talent sucks. Although later the Grateful Dead's music did improve.

But hey they've made a fortune doing what they do so who am I to judge
