Is anyone else ticked about layaway going away? I sure am. As a new mom, I planned on using that this year to get some presents for my little girl! I just don't like it. Seems like they are trying to make a quick buck. I also hear they are going to make their own bank chain! I probably won't use their bank because I like money.

Well...lay away probably costs them money in the long run. They will probably do a WALMART credit card thing so they can charge a high interest rate. Penny's and Sears used to do lay away back in the day but cut that for credit cards I think. A smart alternative to lay away is just saving the money and buying the item. It's no different than lay away.

Walmart has had a high rate credit card for several years now. As far as I know, they still do.
