I was downtown today about 11:30 am and heard sirens, drove downtown and saw no fewer than 6 police cars and several police on foot searching for somebody or something. Came home now to write this and listening to scanner on our board (Thanks Admin) and find that they are searching for a black male with a shaved head and grey shirt, but don't know why they are looking for him.

Anybody know what is going on?

Man that feller can run!!!! Sounds like he was at the Boothill cemetary on second and on trail st the next!!
He's fast!! Must be from Texas!! or perhaps New Orleans!!

Oh sorry I thought he ws on foot - now I hear (or figger) he is on wheels.......duh!!!

Did this start as a gas drive off? They are talkin bout him "rippin the pump off the wall" He certainly didn't stop during a chase to get gas! -

How could they not??? Same way they don't report a lot of other things.

The other things they don't report are not things that could be a major front page story - they are things that are too political, or too personal - this is the first big city event in dodge in awhile - it crossed county agencies and it will make it to front page - I bet! Hell they are probably runnin out there to take pics of the crash scene as I type. They will have sumthin - they had a ghetto bird gettin ready out of Hays I think...... right before he crshed the plane was reported "as ready"........ too bad it was too late

I appologize for any wrong roads if anyone has a different story.
This should be fairly accurate as I heard it all on the police scanner and didn't write any of it down, so memory would have to serve for the telling of this story.

I was eating crabcakes I had just prepared for myself at the time and some portion of my mind was probably back in New England at a shanty on the beach while recalling the tale. musicmaker1

Does anybody have any idea why they stopped the SUV? Why did the guy bolt? Is/was he a fugitive?

Well then my original post stands......... he was on foot AND he has got to be from Texas or New Orleans cause I was listnen too and that was one fast Sumbitch............ I thought after I heard the cemetary to CoOp that he had to be in a car............. then I heard he was in a truck - I heard sumthin bout hostage from CoOp and missed the truck theft - so concluded as fast as he was goin on foot that he must have been mobile all along. LOL Well he woulda made some track coach proud - long ago I bet.
