| If your wondering what all the sirens were about at 11:30am. Friday. DCPD stopped a black SUV on S 2nd and the passenger bolted. They were now in a foot chase of a black male , 200 lbs. shaved head with a grey shirt. He ran through Lopp motors and made his way to front street. Was seen in the locker room and somehow made his way to the area of sacred heart school where he was spotted again. A chase then began again and he was believed to be cornered at "boot hill" cematery. He then fled again across wyatt earp and made it to the COOP gas station where he proceded to steal a green pickup truck with the gas nozzle still in the spout. A high speed chase ensued and he wrecked the pickup at 12:02 in a ditch at matt down and park st. but it must not have been to bad because he swung around and rammed a police crusier and proceeded off again at high speeds. He got to the bypass and proceeded past ford county lake and onto Garnett ( the corrction line) all the way to 132rd. Where he turned around and headed back west. I believe it was 131rd. and lariat that they finally got him stopped and in custody. As far as I could tell no one was injured except for the idiot that ran, Head and neck (figures) I appologize for any wrong roads if anyone has a different story. This should be fairly accurate as I heard it all on the police scanner and didn't write any of it down, so memory would have to serve for the telling of this story. PLUS! I was eating crabcakes I had just prepared for myself at the time and some portion of my mind was probably back in New England at a shanty on the beach while recalling the tale. musicmaker1 |
