Last Minute Shopping

Well I have come to the "saloon" to prepare for the hoards of people in all the malls. We went shopping yesterday after our tradtional potatoe soup and long island tea(s). It's a horror out there! I never saw so many people in all my life. Hell the only thing I can think of that rivals the crowds is Mardi Gras! Yesterday wasn't near as much fun as that! Oddly enough the only store where ya had room to move was Toys are us........ stores are sold to the bare walls - even Vicky's Secrets was a mess. Merchandise on the floors, no merchandise, and aline for the dressing rooms. That didn't make much sense - you are sposed to be buyin for others!

All this I bring to the board cause today I have to go again - without the Tea........ I don't know if I will get out alive - so I just wanna say -

I leave my bling collar to Weezie and KC - you sistas can wrestle over it - course with my neck size it's big enough to make 2 very nice braclets

I leave my drinking bowl to MIT & Hiway - they seem to be the fellas that could carry on the "never empty" tradition my bowl has had

To Lurker I leave my food bowl (It's not empty either) I was gonna leave my cat box but thought that would piss him off

Bubba - you can have my credit card - I know it will never darken the door of WalMart!

AOO - you my friend get my DD214 - ya know old soldiers always pass on sumthin that means so much to them to another soldier!..... maybe you can really get out in 20 but I bet not. If ya need to view a discharge paper for a goal you can have mine!!! LOL

Thank you for being so generous. You have more bling than that, though - where's the rest?

What I don't understand is why you saved the shopping for today? We went to eat at our fave chinese place last night - the mall across the street - people were parking EVERYWHERE. We just shook our heads knowing our shopping was done. Thank you, internet and UPS. And commissary and PX. And AAFES catalog that ships.

I remember working retail during Christmas for two years (I wasn't smart enough to quit after the first one!!) - they were the pits. The store looked like war zones at the end of the day. Vowed then that I'd never save Xmas shopping for the 22nd, 23rd, 24th.

Anyway, here's hoping the lines are short and everybody's nice to ya, Texie! Merry Christmas, everyone!

The way I get around that shopping crap, is I don't buy anybody anything anymore!!! (That's alot of "anys") Well, I guess I do buy the Grandkids and aging Parents a few things, but not necessarily for Christmas. Me and the Wife decided years ago to avoid that trap. We would rather save our money for things they need throughout the year. As far as the Wife, we usually save up for a fishing trip, or a quick trip to Nevada during "March Madness"!

However, I was unfortunately in "Wally World" yesterday, and it was pretty wild!! You be careful out there, and if you need help-----call the sistas-----I think they are all seasoned shoppers.

Do you use the aafes.com website also? I've bought MUCH from there. Nice stuff is so much cheaper. You can save 30% on nice perfumes and colognes.

We do. We use it for out-of-town family - they all "collect" something and AAFES has it all. Reasonable prices, no tax and they ship. Who could ask for more? Actually, I use it more for price comparisons - if I find something here, I check that catalog before I buy (moderate priced or up).

Nothin' beats the real thing (shopping in person!), though!!! I really like the stores on post, but not near payday!!!

Hey..... All "last wills" are off - I made it out alive - I NEVER wait till now to shop - I hate to shop anyhow! I had so many bags in the trunk 3 cars wouldn't wait for my really good parkin spot! Now that's BAD! I think I'm done - got the food and tomorrow - clean house - we aren't havin Christmas till late on Christmas day cause the boys are workin with the criminals till 3 or so - DIL gets in from Denver about 3 as well - Gotta enjoy this Holiday cause she's gettin ready to go to work for the County again - so our schedules are really gonna be a mess!

I must admit I finally just gave up the fight and went to WalMart - I feel like I have been in a disaster! - I have learned it's easier to shop at home - I don't shop a whole lot online andsince X has the PX privlidges.......... I don't ask him to shop for me - they do have nice things at nice prices tho. Ya know I just might have to get me another "dependent" card....... I'll think about that!
