I know nothing about government healthcare, but I have a friend in Toronto, Canada. Canada has a government healthcare system and she says it is horrible. Much like an HMO. I think the government already has too much control over me and my actions and money.

In another thread it was suggested that we cap earned income. Canada's done that with their Physician's pay. Nuff said.

Care to give the whole story? Then while you're at compare what actually has been done as it compares to various and sundry USA system of fee schedules, usual and customary charge limitations, and gain sharing under capitation contracting and tell us how it is different?

I still think they need to cap the profits of insurance companies and drug companies. Then they can start cappin workers pay.

They already do it to utility companies. That is why the company that provides your gas and electricity has to go before the KCC every time they want to raise the rate that they charge customers. Then they have to show how and why their costs have gone up before they get approval to raise rates to customers. It's called a regulated industry.

Regulated because no one should ever not have the basic healthcare they need - no matter how they got ill. It should never be the have's and have nots when it comes to healthcare!

It doesn't matter that they do it to themselves(get sick) - they are humans and deserve health care if they can seek it. It needs to be available - period
