DB Withdrawls............

First, I want to thank DBA2 for assisting with the situation while I was away today.

Second, understand that outages with the board, while rare, are considered a dire issue with me.

For this reason, we have the board prepaid by automatic withdrawel using Paypal subscription service. Therefore, the board should continue to run long after I stop breathing.

I was very upset when I received the call that the board was down, knowing that; a) the bill is paid, and b) I have received no prior contact from the host indicating any problems or violations.

As it turned out, They did send us an email after they pulled the plug (a lot of good that does).

Here is what happened: Our host only allows us to use, at peak, 25% of the CPU time on the server. This is because there are multiple domains run on each server. Any more usage than 25% peak could affect other customers. One of our scripts, the one that checks for mail, was stuck in a loop, causing the server to become saturated. This is not the first time this has happened with the vbms_checkmail.php cron-job. This is however the first time it has happened while I was away, unable to fix it for a long period of time. Since the host saw it, they flipped the switch on us.

For the reasons listed, the plugin has remained in beta status for over a year. We thought we had it tweaked enough to call it usable. Since this plugin has become a continued problem, I have decided to pull the plug on it. It's not worth having the board go down again.

Those of you that had POP mail accounts prior to this plugin can have them back, just PM me with your requested email and password info and I will set it up for you.

I didn't understand none of that stuff - so I'm sure it don't affect me...... all I know is the merry go round wouldn't spin.......... it's also nice to know that there are others that are as Dodgeboard addicted like me!!......... I'm just glad it's fixed - worse 2 hours of my day!! I spent those entire hours lookin for Tee in the white pages and lookin for the Army recruititn station.......... heck none of ya'll are listed!!............ That is the mark of a sick sick board member!!. I admit!........... but I sure don't want no 12 step program or rehab anytime soon!

Heres a question...
How come I can access the DB from my commerical internet provider at home, (telecom Italia), but I cannot access the board from the Army server at work? This is going to bug me if I get deployed and can't post from time to time.

The Army has us classified as TOP SECRET. Only the President and AoO have access.
