i don't get why these guys run anymore after winning the one term...after that they still get those great government paychecks for serving just one term. There's your tax dollars going for a good cause....please. Not to mention regulating how much they get paid. maybe you've heard the song "Damn it feels good to be a gangsta" how about "damn it feels good to be a senator."

I remember an old quote from Newt that went something like, “If all I knew about me came from the 7 second sound bites on TV I wouldn’t like me either.”

Well, fortunately or unfortunately (however you want to look at it), that's all Joe Citizen gets.........Unless they live in New Hampshire, Iowa, etc and have an opportunity to actually see the candidates, ask questions, etc.

It has to do with that Liberal elite media that someone told me didn’t exist.

But if Joe Citizen would turn off American Idol for a bit and do a little reading on their own and not try to get all of their information from CNN then they would know a little more than they do. I FEEL (opinion inserted here...not fact because I am not an expert) that most candidates don't WANT to interact with the public because they might get asked questions they can't answer. Hillary is notorious for this... (having her questions from the audience scripted)....but she's not the only one. They appear on the shows and get softball questions from reporters and such. Let them go on the factor...lol. Then when they do answer with generalities no one calls them out to say...you didn't answer the question.

Strom T. is a good example also why there should be term limits.

Actually almost every speech a candidate makes is posted on the internet along with their voting record and such. It just takes someone caring enough to actually find out about WHO they are voting for. Obama for example talks like he's moderate but he gets a 95% liberal rating from the organization that does the liberal ratings...(I forgot the name because I am not an expertt) (sorry about the misspelling of expert Weeeze...I should use spell chek)...but most people only see what plays on the news about him and the "elite liberal media" that hwy mentioned will not report things about him that might be detrimental (did I spell that right weeeze?) to his campaign.

But that goes to both sides of the isle. (did i spell isle correctly weeze?) Dem/Repubs etc. The longer they are there the harder it is for someone to move them out of the seat unless they totally step on their privates....
