| Speaking of Healthcare.... Just wanted to post how Texas is handeling the issue. Personally I been waiting for this to be approved by VFC (Vaccines for children) which is the medicare money I work off of. Finally we got approval for this to be in our clinics - I see why now! Good goin Texas - Govt involvement at it's finest! IMO Even tho I think Pery is a lyin bast..... for tellintales to get elected. At least he pulled his head out of his booty for this - course there are pleanty that feel this is govt tellin them how to care for thier child......whaaa whaaaa We'll see howit goes - I expect to be real busy! | It's only licensed for females 9 - 26 right now - I don't know what studies they are doin but next time I see my Merck rep I'll ask. Sure is stirrin up a fuss round here tho. Lots of folks feel it's not been given adequate trials yet and don't want it required for school - others feel it's the govt buttin into thier parental rights - others feel ya have to butt in because of the crappy parents that we seem to have. We'll see. The bad press of the first Rotavirus vac is still fresh on folks mind - oh well - I just do what the program says - guess those that don't want it can home school. Might be terrer off anyhow.

They are now doing studies for women in the age group 28-45 and will begin doing studies on males. I would also suggest to the parent that if their teenager had not received the HBV vaccine, (hepatitis B) and the menigococcus,(cause of meningitis especially in college students) that they should get this also. There are many pro's and con's for all vaccinations. On the HPV, I don't think that any state should require school ages girls to receive this vaccine. It's not transmitted by a hand shake or a kiss, it's transmitted by sexual contact and I don't think they'll be doing this in school. Beside, the males can spread it also. Just a little FYI.... ![]() |

| My program is VFC (vaccines for Children) are ya'll a provider mom???? - it's Fed funded but local health dist being lead agencies......- we are the last to get anything and when we do get it - it's restricted to specific groups. Hep B is required in Tx, HepA if req for day care, preschool, and 1st grade, Menning is required for the majoritey of 4 year universitys if ya are gonna live in a dorm - course requirements varry state to state - but I'm glad we probably have the stricteest requirments considering we are next to Alabama and Louisanna.................. these southern states are just kinda slow sometines,
