| >>>> Garden usually has live bands somewhere during the week.>>>> They haven't had bands during the week in just as long of time as Dodge. No difference. Last time bands played during the week in SW Kansas was in the late 80's. (I.E. The Dodge House is only one that had bands during the week in the late 80's.). I played Garden City a bunch even well before the Sand Hill River Band days, and can't think of anyone that had bands (not solo or two man acts)during the week in Garden on a regular basis. I think the Dodge House was the last in SW Kansas. Some have unsuccesfully tried (like the LongHorn) but didn't last long even with a house band. The only bands you might hear on a week night now ,is a mexican band, maybe. I would venture to guess you have been away sense the 80's and do not know what your talking about .. IMHO ![]() >>>Garden without a doubt was much more upscale and it seemed thier owners didn't drink all the profits>>>> |

| Geesh Louise!!............. I have been gone for almost 3 years. I went to Garden every Tuesday for probably 4 years - there was usually a band at Molly McGees.......... nice atmosphere, nice place.................. I don't make it a habit to say something I haven't done. If they no longer do that - that's possible - it may not be called Molly Mcgees any longer and it was a toss up - at times they had a band that was there for a week at a time and at times they had a DJ - but they always had something.

| Mcgees is not big enough to have a full band. Thats why they hired touring lounge acts, not local bands. Grain Bin - Not big enough. Cottonwood - Not everyone cup of tea. The others that did have bands was only on weekends. Most places folded when the drinking age moved up to 21. When it was 18, you could play wed - sat many places. I know what your saying though. I never got to finish my reply to that last comment about owners drinking away their profits. I was just going to say Humm, You may be on to something there. I still love ya kitty |
