You are correct on that, Mike. And if he has changed his position, it is news to me!

Honestly I don't put much weight behind "contacting your Representative." Like they give a shit? These leaders have their heads so far up the people that put them in offices, and I'm not talking your average citizen, a$$ they really couldn't care less what we think. Not to mention they're so far out of touch with the average Joe's opinions it not funny.

You can't really blame them I guess. Thanks to all the people that now love to exercise their right to free speech our leaders don't dare make the public appearances they used to. They're afraid they'd get booed and harassed so they meet with their buddies at the country club who are happy to give them advice on what needs to be done.

Most of our leaders still think Dodge City owes its fame and then tourism to some television show from the 30's. Could you be any more clueless? They attribute the decline in Dodge City tourism to these people dieing off. HELLO! you think Dodge City being turned into a boarder town might have something to do with it?

We already have gambling. Just go down and meet the bus that picks up the people going to the Oklahoma casino. We have the crime and problems associated with gambling, we might as well profit from it.

Clueless I tell ya!

I'm against any gaming that's approved by Topeka simply because most of the revenue goes to Topeka. Local entities don't even get a sales tax cut from existing lottery dollars.... the money just disappears from our local revenue stream.

As it stands today, should Pedro, Juan and Sancho get together and redistribute their monies over a deck of cards or the speed of a racehorse, their monies remain and are available for buying from the local economy at the end of the game.

The State's version will create a group of neckties whose sole purpose is to collect the lion's share and remove those dollars from Ford County...

Well it looks as though the Senate passed the bill and is sending it to the Governor. If She sticks to her word she will sign the bill.

Remember, the residents of counties where casinos are proposed will be able to vote on whether they want gambling in their community. This debate isn't even close to finished yet.

Quietly,

You are absolutely correct. Not only do the counties have to vote, but the State will need to decide who will operate the casinos. The State Consitution will be questioned and law suits will be filed. Casino issues are a long way from being finished.
