| I could have sworn we won the war in Iraq. I mean hell Bush made that speech on teh aircraft carrier in the Gulf with the big "Mission Accomplished" banner behind him. I thought that meant it was over. Oh well guess not...stupid me. I agree with Wordy. Six years ago this post would have been nice. But now its going to be a hotbed conversation. The fact is that no matter what is said here, no opinions are going to be changed on either side of the extremes in this arguement. So it would be moot to point anything out that hasn't already been said. But oh well lets do it anyways. 9/11 wasn't Bush's fault, word of the wire from news sources say he knew about it a few weeks ahead of time and did nothing. But I'm unsure if I believe that. Its kinda like the same story about Roosevelt knowing that Pearl Harbor was going to be bombed. We won't ever truly know. Let me ask a question though. Why do you think we are hated so much by the fundamentalist regimes? Answer how you want because I have my own opinion on it. Israel and our support for them. And, our history with abandoning secular regimes after helping to plan and finance coups in their countries.

| There'd be no less. I think there would be more though since W's war has been used as a recruiting tool for terrorist groups all over the world.

| No though I think is was a mistake to invade Iraq, we are to heavily entrenched within the country to leave. Israel is the big discussion here though. All issues with the Middle East center around Israel. Like Iraq we have to much going on to just leave and say nope we are going to be like Japan pre-WWII and become an Isolationist society so leave us be. We've gotten our hands into so many things that its impossible for us to not be at the top in everything going on in this world. We have no other choice. But to answer the question you actually made this post about. Loaded question or not. I would love to see Bush be a successful president. I don't think he has been. But he still has a year and a half to make up for the rest in my book. But Army is still stands that I still agree with you about Sen. Clinton. She scares me like fat cops at an all you can eat donut shop. YWS

| We would all like to have our president be successful, regardless of political party. More often than not, a president's success is really judged 4-10 yrs after his presidency. After new president is elected, the norm is to blame the previous president for all that is wrong in the world for a few years, then try to make your own impact.

| Hillary doesn't scare me that much but she's not my choice. I think the question is a loaded question but I would like to see Bush be successful - I have always supported the troops but this is gettin just way outta hand. I'm still stayin the course but I hope there are some rabbits commin outa the hat soon. We have lost too many in a world that doesn't care. They lost me with wantin to take off for 2 months. That just turned me the opposite direction. I feel we have really taken the toll - we have lost more than anyone and continue to lose daily........... it's looking painfully familiar. The acitve duty now were kids when I signed up - I didn't go over but also got spat on at airports - quite an experience for a 21 yo. I have always been a miltary supporter and still am but it's just startin to be de je vue............. I wish I could see things that changed my mind - my only thread to hangin on so far is Sgt T.......................... I need some websites of good news - I'm in need!

| TK, One thing you should all be aware of, and don't ask me to go into specifics, but the Iraqi Army is shouldering more of this burden that you are led to believe. And paying a high price for the kind of freedoms that we enjoy. But they are willing to pay, so they've earned it as far as I'm concerned.

| Well I know there are good things over there - I just never hear about them very often. No need to go into the media leaning one way or the other. I'm not looking for a group hug - I'm looking for them to stand up and kick ass so we aren't the target. For me if the citizens (and I don't mean the politicians that gain) want a democracy and the freedoms to choose then I wanna see them out there taking control of thier country. Instead of fightin with each other like a bunch of girls over the boy with dimples. I just wanna see some progress - so in that sense I truely hope Bush is successful but I know it's not about what he does or doesn't do - successful people are only as successful as the people that surround them - no one does it alone. I look at success or failure as a team sport. Thanks Sgt T - you made me feel better today - wish I could make your day better too!
