| Well, I am a woman and quite proud to be so I guess that makes me a feminist by default. Not going to dispute that! I think at times it is unbalanced on both sides. Lately I have been hearing a lot of stories regarding men paying for years for children that aren't theirs. I doubt "the sistas" are going to argue that it needs to be fair. It needs to be fair on both sides. There are enough deadbeat dads (and moms!) out there that we should be finding instead of filling the courts with men that aren't even related to the children whom they are paying child support. |

| I'll go there with ya and I'm not a femi-nazi, either. Both parents need to be responsible for the financial part of parenting. Whether or not they wish to participate in the actual upbringing of the child. That said, I went without child support for my two kids, but when the ex-hubby wanted it for the summer, he damn well was paid. I firmly believe there is wrong done on both sides of the line. But until we get lawyers and judges to meet in the middle, there are bound to be lopsided judgements. (how's that - and I've had a whole bottle of wine!!!)

| In this area, I am and was blessed. I had custody of my children after my divorce.........refused to make her pay any support. She helped out where and when she could. I also refused to set up "visitation" times. If she wanted them, she got them. I would even change my plans if need be. We never argued over transportation.....like I said, blessed. I truly feel for those who make a divorce into a major battle.......truly sad.

| Wow, Mr. Dutchie - may I just apologize for all the times I've been less than gracious to you on this board. And one more thing? Where were you when I was lookin' for #2?

![]() Of course whomever the absent parent is they should do their part. What I cannot understand the court system that would hold a non parent responsible after a paternity test, even if they don't come to court. What a mess.
