| Was just wondering if you had any facts or support for your opinion. That would help sway me...

| Nope, no facts. Just the title: Mom. I hesitate to villify any breed of any animal unless all the facts are exposed. Any pet (talking about normal pets)can be trained to be dangerous (agreed: some more dangerous due to their size or strength) just as any kid can be trained (or ignored, as the case may be) to be a maladjusted kid. Before I'd want to enforce a ban on a breed, I'd want to take a look at the breeder/owner. That's not fiscally responsible, so I gotta accept the status quo, I just hate to see them (pits) so maligned. My granddogs are pretty good boys.

| I have a large dog, Akita. They were bred to kill bears. Mine is the biggest baby in the world. People always come up without asking to pet him. He has never hurt anyone. But I always am cautious, and tell them, he has never snapped at anyone yet, but come to pet him slowly. You never know. The owner has a responsibility. |

| Hey Aspen.....Cool dog! My family brought the first ones out here to Dodge back in '76 when we were breeding them in Las Vegas. One of the few breeds, though, that you definately do not want to let around other dogs without supervision. We had 15 at a time, each of them in alternating kennels so no male was next to another male, or female next to a female. Definately a high maintenance dog, but they are a very cool dog.

| High maintenance, I agree. I have had dogs all my life, and this one is more devoted than any animal I have ever had. Devotion betwen animal and human is rare. That is why he is always closely supervised. He will protect his "master". That is why you have to be careful. He has never "snapped" at anyone, but I wont' take the chance. |
