[quote=jackknife;48947]Also, you can't really expect people to be super happy about customer service when they are getting paid a dollar (exaggeration I know) an hour.QUOTE]

Those people CHOSE to work at Walmart and knew the wage. Customer service shouldn't be dependent on how much a person makes. They are hired to REPRESENT WALMART regardless of what they make and most of them do a piss poor job of it.

I just called 1-800-WALMART because I have also noticed the poor condition of the produce dept. in Wal-Mart, and I have chosen to purchase produce at Dillon's instead. The woman I spoke to was very friendly and seemed very concerned when I told her the store was very dirty, especially in the produce dept. I also mentioned that it's impossible to find service unless you go on a hunt! She took my information and told me that someone would be looking into the problem. Also, I would be having a manager of some sorts be calling me within the next few business days. I plan on telling him/her to go to dodgeboard.com and searching for Wal-Mart in the forums. I believe we have enough information on here for them to get the full extent of how bad the store has become. So, who else has the balls to call?

BTW, Dillon's produce is usually very well kept and clean. I recommend Dillon's for your produce needs until we see improvement in Wal-Mart.

I can't stand going to the Walmart produce dept. A good portion of the the time the veggies and fruits are half rotten. UGH. The Dillons here is OK but not great on selection. I long for a HY VEE or Dillons like in KC.

Ah, they are good Army...I still say the best customer service I got in DC was at the Hispanic stores. It may seem strange to go in to a place that speaks mostly Spanish, but the owners of stores I've visited always went out of their way to accommodate me. Whether or not they speak Spanish, to me, that's good customer service. They know I can go elsewhere where English is spoken, but will bend over backwards to ensure I come back again and again. The same can be said of restaurants. It all starts with management and goes from there.

The way that the Walmart people throw the produce around, it is not wonder that it is rotten!!

By the way Army, I was in several HyVee's over the past few weeks, and you are right; they have a very good selection and were very friendly and helpful. They even call me "Sir" in those stores!!!

Well...I got a call back from a woman who apparently works in produce in the Dodge City store. All she had to say about the dirty floors was that they were on a cleaning schedule so she will get maintenance to scrub the floors better at night. She also mentioned that 1 grape on the floor ruins the entire floor and how if they mop in the middle of the afternoon people have falling problems. (maybe if the WET FLOOR signs were in Spanish lol) Seems they hate it as much as we do, but have given up hope. I'll stick to Dillon's for produce. BTW her name is Carrie Metula and the actual produce manager is named Cory. I am sure they would take your suggestions personally. I also mentioned the lack of bags and she said that wasn't possible because she keeps them in stock! WTF!?!?! Bring them out on the floor if they are in stock!

I think it's great and all that 1800WALMART let's the stores personally talk to the upset consumer, but if they don't care how does the problem get fixed? After they get so many calls on one store do they do an audit or something? Hell it's almost as worthless as voting lol JK!!!!
