| Yes....let me run to the REALLY nice HY VEE we have here....or perhaps I could pull in to the SUPER Target and get my groceries there?!? Actually I'm going to start planning most of my shopping at the commissary on the air force base in Wichita when I visit. Where would you suggest I shop? PLEASE don't say GENE's...that place SUCKS. The produce is worse than Walmart and there is no selection. I don't MIND going to Walmart I just want it to be clean and have decent customer service. Is that too much to ask or am I out on an island here.

| Our local Wal*Mart has really gone down the shit'er. Have you tried asking for help lately? I asked for some help from a employee in the next lane from me and she said "on what?" I said the wet-dry vacs had no price and I wanted to know how much they were. She said when she got done putting up stuff she would be over. We waited 15 minutes before we found another employee clear over at the toys to come help. She wasn't thrilled about it but we told her we couldn't get anyone else to help. Even the employees, 3 of them, behind the automotive counter wouldn't walk around the corner to help. They were too busy chatting with each other in Spanish. I've noticed shitty service at many places in town lately. I'm thinking of changing my name to Jesus and see if service improves.

| I don't shop Wal Mart up here very often, partly because we do so much at the Commissary & PX (and Class 6!!) in Leavenworth that I just don't need to. But I find much the same thing you all complain about - Spanish seems to be the language of most of the help. And they're waaaay too busy and waaay too many crying babies with moms that don't notice. Our Target is a notch above that, so if I need something quick, Target's my choice. I still prefer Leavenworth - it's only about 45 minutes away.

| I think I read earlier in the year that Wal-Mart's are upgrading themselves to reflect their local markets. I guess the store is looking like our little community...On where to buy groceries, before I left, I heard great things about the Mexican grocery store down on South Second in the old Jensen's building. They speak English and are very polite and help everyone. You may have to go there...seems kind of strange to suggest it. |
