I can proudly say even though my credit sucks and I'm sure alot of my furniture etc needs a bit of updating I have never, nor will I ever get suckered into any of those places!!!!

It's not that hard. But what you do have to remember, is that no one forces these people to come into, and buy from the stores. And for people that don't have the money upfront, don't have the available credit, or a bad credit history, they don't have much choice, it's usually easier to make smaller monthly payments, rather than one large one, even if it means paying more. Most times, a lot more.

P.S. Don't let my boss see this.

If you had good credit and you put it on a credit card, unless you pay off the balance, its probably gonna cost you around the same by the time you pay the interest.

Same with store credit cards. I'd say six of one half dozen of the other.

I shop at Goodwill.

Store cards are probably the worst. Had a couple before I filed bankruptcy, Walmart, Sears, and Zales. All between 22 and 25%. At least with regular cards, you can get your interest down, but, with bad credit, it goes right back up. Aarons has started to help people with thier credit. They report whenever you pay off an account, they report it to the credit bureau, and it shows up as a paid in full account. I checked my experian report today, and saw the three things I bought, all paid in full.

Aarons and the like are just like the money lending places. They prey off of people in a bad situation. I will agree that those people make the decision to walk in but sometimes you have to pass regulations and laws to protect people from themselves and their own stupidity. (seat belt law) I had co worker that bought a washer and dryer there. He paid a fortune for it in the long run and it was low end stuff. I suggested he buy a decent used washer and dryer until he saved the money for a new one but that didn't fly.

I have just never understood that thinking. How is it easier to pay later than to save and pay when you have all the money? I would think it's easier to pay 400.00 for a couch than to pay 4000.00 for it in weekly payments over 15 years.

It's called fiscal responsibility and living within your means.
