You should send this data to all three branches of government!! just the fact that you narrowed everything down to such simple choices is sure to get you a cabinet post...

"hmm i don't remember the 3rd"

maybe the newest, Dr. Virtiska ? (sp)

Also the director of the WC is Traci H. She is very good. High scores is no stranger to her dept and the dept's that she has covered as interim Dir. Not sure that more could be asked.

I'm just speaking in general Wordy. The point that I'm trying to make is that a lot of Americans are moving away from individual responsibility and expecting certain things from the gov't. A lot of people EXPECT the gov't to take care of them when they get older instead of planning for it. Then when they are eating Alpo they sit around and complain about how the gov't f**ked them over. Our society is becoming an entitlement society...want, want, want...what can YOU do for ME? I DESERVE.....most of us that grew up didn't "DESERVE" anything...we earned it. How many of you guys DESERVED you first car and how many earned it with hard work? How many of you guy DESERVED a great job or did you work your way UP? In the line of doing my job you would be surprised how many of the upcoming generation have the I DESERVE mentality....

But this kind of thing just enforces that kind of thinking. Your poll gave the limiting choices of ALL me, which I know I cannot afford to pay all my premiums, or ALL someone else.

You don't have ANY middle ground in there at all.

AoO, you probably don't like compromise, either, eh?

I think Wordsmythe has a very valid point. I'm generaly anti-entitlement, but I chose what I chose on that survey because I think having everyone responsible for their own health care is a great way for the insurance companies to make a fortune. The answer lies in the middle ground.

And I refuse to get started on the potential error analysis of the poll! View it as entertainment, not anything conclusive.

A lot of people EXPECT the gov't to take care of them when they get older instead of planning for it. Then when they are eating Alpo they sit around and complain about how the gov't f**ked them over.

Well alrighty then. Mr. I get all mine and my familys health care without actually having to pay a co-pay.

So I have paid in for medicare and medicaid, Do I get a refund ? Uh I would be more than happy to pay for an affordable health care plan. Do you know one that I can research ? You know one that doesn't have Washington DC in its pocket.

You know Army. You have been in the military since you were wet behind the ears. So you have no clue and have the audacity to preach to civilians. But thats just you and it don't make you a bad guy.

There are so many catch 22's in the REAL WORLD health care. Like pre-existing conditions for you or your family, if you choose to get a higher paid job, Limits to what is paid for certain conditions, whether is is pre-existing or not. Thats is just 2 of the many little " unless" clauses in the fine print.

You have this idealistic view of life and I totally understand where you are coming from, and I had that same view UNTIL I stepped out into the real world.

So I have paid in for medicare and medicaid, How do you pay in for medicaid? Medicare is financed partly by FICA, medicare is not...Do I get a refund ? Uh I would be more than happy to pay for an affordable health care plan. What do you consider affordable? If you rack up $50,000 in medical bills...in retrospect would a $400 a month HCP have been affordable? Affordable is different things to different people. Some people can afford the $$ per month but choose not to because it's easy to just say...it's unaffordable..when they really don't wanna make the cuts necessary to pay for it. Thats is just 2 of the many little " unless" clauses in the fine print. I agree, "real world" healthcare can cost a lot of money. My sister who is 50 has MS. Her hubby has GREAT healthcare but is pretty has to stay at his position in his company because if he changed companies and consequently healthcare plans her condition would be preexisting...and not covered. I talk to people daily and they tell me what they pay and I KNOW it's a lot. It's not enough though that they would be willing to make a sacrifice and join the military for the low cost benefit...

You have this idealistic view of life and I totally understand where you are coming from, and I had that same view UNTIL I stepped out into the real world.
The REAL world huh? You are probably a couple years older than me but I will bet I've been as many places and seen as much as you have...just because I EARN my healthcare with my service doesn't make me naive. I KNOW what people pay because as a Recruiter it's one of my pitches...

So what makes it any different if my employer pays for my healthcare as part of my "service" to the company?

Army .....its called Insurance.

For example

Home = paid it for years, used it once
Car = paid it for years, NEVER USED IT ( i am knocking on my wooden head)
Have had the same company for 30 years now. Believe me, there are alot of folks that have never used their insurance.

I know health insurance is another animal, however there are folks that have it and very rarely use it. THAT DAMNED OLE YEARLY DEDUCTABLE stops alot of folks dead in their tracks. Its not use it or lose it, its use it and be prepared to pay over and above monthly premiums.

On the everyone has an opportunity to join the military and get a great healthcare package....................... well alot of folks are not qualified to join because of their health problems. So they are screened out. They may really really want to join but can't.

I don't think the military want mental cases , uh and after you reach a certain age they say No. If you have a house full of kids .....NO . I am sure you know all the no no's
(Is flat feet still one of the no no's)
