I just had a thought that didn't die from loneliness (most of mine do). Actually its a question.

Do our Political representatives go through any psychological evaluations before taking office ? You know like the requirements of law enforcement, military, etc.

I know they don't carry weapons, but they are in charge of a few.

How about drug testing? Anyone know?

I googled but didn't find anything, maybe I didn't google correctly

Actually that's a good question. Hillary just hired Sandy Berger back on her staff.

"Berger used his privileged access to steal top-secret national-defense documents. On at least two occasions he stuffed them into his clothing and briefcase, smuggling them out of the archives. He secreted some of these stolen papers under the wheel of a truck at a nearby construction site so that he could return for them later. Other documents he intentionally destroyed. These actions were serious felonies.

Berger then lied to the authorities, denying what he had done and absurdly claiming he had taken the documents in an honest mistake. Only later did he fess up to his theft."

This guy lost his security clearance for 3 years. He gets it back Sept of next year...just in time to get appointed to her staff....This is the type of people she surrounds herself with.

This guy is not an elected official but he is giving advice TO an elected official. You would think she give a bit more thought on who she surrounds herself with. I guess she owes the guy for not ratting her and her hubby out and going down for stealing those documents. I wonder who else she owes favors to.

In the MILITARY...EVERYONE gets drug tested. Congress is probably above and beyond that because really...who do they answer to? The voter? I can't march in to Teddy K's Office and give him a drug test...lol. I had to take a psych eval just to be a recruiter and I get drug tested about 6 times a year. In the military EVERYONE gets a background check and to have any type of job that contains important information you HAVE to have a security check done and given a clearance. I imagine most people at the congressional level have top clearance's because if they didn't they couldn't know about all the stuff no one else know's about. (it's too bad some of the leak it to the media for political purpose's)

That was hard to answer without putting my usual political spin on it....lol.

It's unfortunate that our leaders are not held to the same standard that we are...It seems they deem themselves "above the law" sometimes when in reality I think they forget that THEY WORK FOR US. There's just not enough people out here that pay attention and vote often enough to HOLD them accountable. That sucks....
