No thanks. I can find a lot less hazardous work for $16 an hour. I've worked there its not like its not a skilled labor. That seems rather cheap too me for any skilled labor.

Maybe I'm just giving too much credit to todays working force in America and they've gotten lazy. Or could it be Americans have learned to stand up for their right and such businesses don't like that idea? Why would someone work such a hard and hazardous job for $16 an hour? Is that what they are paying skilled construction labor? Last I knew a skilled brick layer or carpenter made around $25 an hour.

I can see why these plants would rather import people willing to do the work for $16 an hour and not complain. I see your point. I wouldn't do that kind of work for $16 an hour.

gee i dont know $16 an hr is pretty decent for only working 4 days a week every six months you get 7 days off im not sure you can beat that and the work as a maintenance person is not that hazardous anyway.

Maybe most ppl should really start thinking that they arent worth as much as they think and accept the fact that using that as an excuse to NOT work rather than to work therefore eliminating the there reason for nto working and accepting the fact that yes americans by CHOICE are down right lazy

I worked at Excel on the shipping dock back in the 80's, back when we loaded the trucks by hand, 7 days a week, 10 hours a day. The pay back then was 7.50 an hour, and it was good money. Too bad one was always tired and didn't get a day off. After breaking my leg while loading a truck, they decided to fire me because I couldn't do the work. Water under the bridge now.

Anyway.....we do not have a large enough work pool to draw from to fill the jobs and I doubt everyone is to lazy to go apply.

No not everyone is lazy just the ones who sit around all day blaming certain races for lack of jobs when they do not apply for them. I have personally seen a months worth of applications for Cargill and let me tell you less than 5% are not of hispanic descent. Sad but true.

Look keep eating at their restaurants,buying their food and keep eating at McDonalds and Sonic and Arbys, Taco bell, Taco Tico, Taco Jaliscos> Somebody has to make that food and by CHOICE it is not what i want to do for a living but keep complaining that Cargill and the rest of the mentioned places only hires illegals cause guess what they make up most of their applicant process.

Sucks about your leg and losing that job cause starting in the 80s and if you were still there you would more than likely be making a comfortable living being there, just had to stay long enough. It always works itself out in the end. Dont know what you do now but im sure it would have paid off in the end.

I worked there in 91-93 at 6.85 and hr and that was great to me. Always went to the original Saigons on east wyatt earp to cash my check on thurs and eat and drink.

Im by far not advocating the hiring of illegals at any place. But regardless of how they get here they are working and taxes are being taken out and they are paying their bills and rent and spending money in DODGE CITY especially Wal-Mart.

Whether we like it or not they are doing all the jobs that either we do not want to do or are to lazy to go out and get

Most people really do not care about illegals working anywhere. What upsets most people about illegals are basically two things:

Entitlements
Higher taxes to cover those entitlements


If all these illegals are working, and making good money.......then why are so many of them collecting welfare and food stamps? Ever see what happens to someone when they have their social security number stolen and used somewhere else? Do you not find it sad that you have to speak spanish at most government jobs?

So, if the illegals are coming here for the jobs........take the jobs away. If our government would do something right and take away the entitlements, then we would not have anything to argue about.

They make 16.00 per hour? Wow. It's hard work, but the pay and benefits are great. It confuses me as to why more people in Dodge don't want to work there. With the scarsity of well paying jobs, it seems people here would rather take the minimum wage jobs then do a bit of hard work.

Just a comparison:

Excel: 16.00/hr

DCPD: 15.14/hr (starting)

This really isnt a good comparison, because Excel/National Beef dont always work 40/wk, but their health benefits blow ours away.

Its a catch 22, take away jobs so the illegals cant work , then we take away jobs that we can work. Blame one group for "stealing" our jobs and blame the other for taking away our jobs.

Yes i have seen what a stolen SS can do to someone and thats on a personal level. But here is the kicker on that and since this is such an opportunistic country the SS are being sold by the LEGAL residents too the ILLEGAL residents and when you dont want to work, it is so easy to sell your identity for $100 to a buyer and he sells the identity to a middleman for $300 and he sells it back to the illegal for $900. A nice revolving door and all the original seller does is take $12 of the original $100 and buys another SS and BC.

The best and absolute thing to do is apply and recieve those jobs which in turn limits their ability to work here.


When the SS numbers they use are legit numbers what are the big companies going to do? just assume that they look illegal and refuse them employment and face a big lawsuit over discimination? Once again another catch 22.

The only way for the goverment to discover that they are truly illegal is to go out and detain them and run them thru the system to find out how many numbers are out there that are the same.

What you do is exactly what they are doing now. Let them know when the crackdown is coming and see who doesnt show up or quits and you have your illegal population for the moment in the plant. When they return they are fired. Maybe.

Dont blame Cargill blame the goverment for establishing the right to equal employment regardless od race religion or sexual preference or age.

I believe that they should implement a finger print identification at all companies that record what name the fingerprint was last used under just as the police dept. and federal goverment uses. Simple but effective and how you going to lie about your print in any language being in their system.

Cargill is multi billion dollar company they can afford it. Colemans Natural Meats uses a fingerprint clock-in that scans your fingerprint to clock you in which prevents anyone clocking you in or out and they have maybe and I mean maybe 50 employees. Why cant Cargill?

Lord that is Cargills level 8 pay rate NAtional beef only has a level 7 pay rate less than $16 unless of course you reach the oh so important specialty level 8 at national which you must qualify for but still.

I beg to differ on that point! How many new schools have we built? How many free lunches and free breakfasts have we supplied? How many Welfare coupons have we supplied, so they can leave the store with a wad of 100 dollar bills in their pocket as they climb into their new Cadillac Escalade? Im not kidding myself schools have and always will give out free lunches and guess what im 34 and was on free lunches all thru elementary and middle school for the simple fact that they were free. Take what given to you.

Why when for years the USA has went on for for years compalining that the blacks were to lazy to work and abusing the food stamps and free health care given to us by the states and if we dont use what is given to us it is taken away and for the ppl that maybe need it it would be a great loss so whether you or me any one else likes it they have to use up the funding or lose it.

I have seen the laziest white people abuse years and years of the food stamp program and free money that is given to them because it is therte to be taken. Same as the blacks and asians.

When I was younger the outcry was the blacks were taking all the foodstamps and money from the state cause they were to lazy to work.

10 years later it was whites and blacks abusing the system while they went to Wal-Mart and spent that free money and got in their nice cadillacs and trucks and drove away

Then the Vietmanese were using and abusing the same system along with the blacks and whites.

Now it is the mexicans are abusing the system the same way I know the blacks the whites and the asians have done for decades.

The only reason they drive those escalades and eddie bouier (sp) editions explorers is because 1 they get it from the mexican dealerships who rape their own ppl on prices (if you dont believe go compare the prices at other well esptablished dealerships in dodge and then go to one of the mexicans places and see how they add up) and 2 they dont care if they live 5,6,7 ppl to a 2 bedroom home when they all work different shifts to split the rent 7 ways of a 600 rent home to pay for the nicer vehicles.

I cant llive like that and I wont. They dont care.

This has been a never ending cycle with the all races its just the mexicans turn now to feel the blunt of our attack thats all.

In time we will find another race to blame for the goverment seeing an oppurtunity to raise the taxes and steal more form the honest working person knowing that we will find away to blame another group of people for what they are doing.

So dont kid yourself about what is truly going on around us it isnt the illegals ultimate responsibility to take the blame for any of this.
