| What does everyone think that this will do to local classrooms? I am curious how many students will have to leave, how many will enter with no english skills, and how many will stay & be even poorer than they are now. What are your opinions on this?     |

| I did address the point I just didnt single out the illegals. Im not the person who stood up and said "Send us your weak, your poor........" that was the US gov. who invited the masses of the world to come on over and enjoy the fruits of our labor and to take advantage of what they have set up for us to use. We cannot stop world population from growing so as long as people are going have sex the population is going to grow and new schools are going to have to be built more State programs are going to be abused, companies are going to use shady hiring practices and so and so on. Im not an advocate for the hiring of illegals but years agao I quit sitting at Wal-Mart guessing at what mexican was legal and which one wasnt. I quit being mad at them getting in there new Explorers, their new Chevrolet trucks their new Ford cars and I decided that as long as I was working that is absolutely 1 less job they can have, 1 less seat they were going to be sitting in when I went and ate at a restauraunt. They didnt implement they right to an education (regardless of how you got here) they didnt implement the right to work (regardless of how you got here) they didnt write the constitution where freedom of speech and freedom of religion were all thrown out for the world to use and abuse when they came here to America and first and foremost they sure and hell didnt get the right to affirmative action put in place where companies have to hire under educated lack of experiance and so forth to the minorities of the world REGARDLESS of how they got here. Like I said in an earlier post Colemans Natural Meats in Limon Colorado use a fingerprint clock in system that scans your fingerprints to recognize who the person is clocking in so that nobody can clock in or out another employee. If they ever come back under another name and they register it in the system the old name comes up under that print and guess what I bet they are illegal. Why cant Cargill a multi billion dollar company and NAtional Beef put that into work. For years Cargill has talked about a retina scan to enter the plant never happened and never will. They should do away with the welfare system because that is nothing but a crutch for the lazy and illegals. It just sucks we cant work at Cargill under 1 name and collect foodstamps, free healthcare for our 6 babies and recieve cash assistance under another name. Its the hand we were dealt. Do away with the program and that problem willl go away. Apply for the jobs they are applying for and hope you get it and they cant work there. You occupy the places that they have come for and they have no reason to be here they move on. |

The no child left behind does nothing but create more society problems. Our schools have become production line education factories. Quantity over quality thanks to no child left behind. I used to think you couldn't really blame the teachers because they were just the pawns of the school board that was seeing dollar signs from our immigrants. But then I see teachers have no problem raising hell when the board wanted to address evolution/religion so their lack of action makes them just a guilty. Now that we are seeing a nation wide crack down on illegals these businesses are simply discarding these people. They have made their money off them and have no further use for them. Now they because an even bigger burden on society.

Plain and simple and do you really think that they are truly spending the money on the food at the schools? They get so much per student per free lunch to help with the "free lunch program". You hit on alot of thing s in your last response that i cant argue or really rebuke. Excellent points. But really isnt it sad that even though growing up with all these programs that were available to us and the underprivilaged to have at their disposal in hopes of bettering ourselves to serve a more important part of society is being exposed at the hands of the illegals that think it is ok to abuse what is there to HELP not HURT the one who truly need it. |

| I don't know if it is a thinking "it is ok to abuse the system" as much as it is taking something because you can. If the system was set up as a first come, first serve type with a limited fund then they should be held accountable for taking away from someone who needs it. The system is not set up that way. As it is no one gets turned away from welfare because somebody else is using it, they just add that person to the rest. The government allows the abuse, so who is to blame? If I told you that I have a way for your family to make the same amount of income that two people working make, but only one of you has to, would you not take it? If I told you that you do not have to learn the common language, we will accomodate you and make sure we can communicate with you, would you change? I see people everyday, every single day, who can legally collect social security but can't speak english. They have been here, and worked here, for years and years and still can't speak english. It is humiliating to work in a Federal Government office and have to speak Spanish just so you can do your job. It is even more humiliating that the policy of our government is that even if a known illegal (false papers, false ID etc...) applies for a Social Security card, the workers and office are not allowed to secure those documents or report the person. Sad aint it? So, who do you go after and target........the employers. It is easier for them to verify a worker ( all it takes is a phone call) than it is for the government to track them down. If the employers do not hire them, or make it a policy to hire them, then the numbers of them will drastically reduce. Illegals do not live off of welfare, they supplement their income with it. If the population of illegals in Dodge City were to suddenly find themselves without work, they would not stay here, they would move on. The businesses that thrive on them would also shut down. The housing market would be flooded with empty houses and landlords would suffer. Our local economy would take a blow, but not a knockout one. It would force our leaders to deal with the economy, instead of them just sitting back and letting the town become a cesspool that is becoming now.
