Dodge has always reeked of the smell of money as long as I can remember and it did that before we had the big influx of non-English speaking illegal immigrants.

Ok, worker at Excel claims 5 dependants so taxes taken out of check pretty low. Worker's wife goes to SRS and gets welfare and food stamps for 3 children and herself and gets 1800 dollars a month. Does hubby pay more than 1800 a month in taxes? Doubt it. Said 1800 is spent for household expenses, Wal-mart and such.........tax money paid for taxes. So you are wrong in the assumption that they pay their share of taxes.

If you had lived here before the big plants, which I doubt some of you have, you would remember Downtown Dodge being full of stores. You would remember when Miller and Sunnyside schools were mostly Hispanic and had the BEST scores of any schools. You would remember when the word Mexican was not connected to illegal alien.

These plants have brought nothing but waste to this town, and our greedy leaders have been more than happy to let it deteriate around us since none of them had to deal with them. When your workforce is made up of roughly 85% uneducated people, and they have uneducated families with them, what do you expect they will do for a town or community?

1800 in total benifits, cash assistance and food stamps, for a family of 4 (one adult and three children) is the average. SRS knows of this type of "scam" but do not have the manpower or budget to check on each person. If the family does not file taxes then there is no paper trail of them. Now, if said person has two or more id's then they can work under one and file for benifits under the other, thus bringing in basically a third income.
SRS does not truly want to bust these people because it then brings their number of recepients down, in turn bringing their budget down......the more people who "need", the more the SRS gets.........
SSA, while much stricter, is also in the same boat. While workers may not pay the same amount in income tax, they do pay the same amount in SSA tax since it is based on income not dependants. You take away the illegal aliens income and you take away a big chunk of the money SSA gets.

Well gunner, if you agree with that statement then you have no problem with entitlements going to people who wish to abuse the system. Me, I do not put my values or morals in the same pot with those who came here first. I deal with the now, not the then.
