| So, why didn't the judge just set asside the plea agreement and hit him with everything he could. Once you plead guilty the judge does not have to accept any deal made. They don't do it too often because people would stop making deals and just go to court and clog up the system even more. But I've seen it hppen at least twice.

| Welcome back! You're right on, but I suspect the judge knew it would just be a media frenzy and just wanted to dispose of it. True, the insurance company could go after the guilty party and probably will since this has become a high-profile case and will want it on record - then again, it would cost money and bring no monetary relief. At least the jerk was treated the way he acted - with pure disregard to his wants/needs. Hoorah, indeed!
