Being sold down the river again

I see in todays paper where our great city leaders are working diligently to once again sell the community down the river for the sake of the packing plants.

So leader from the Dodge City, Garden City and Liberal met to discuss how to bypass a coming state want to crack down on illegal immigration. While Liberals Mayor seems to welcome the crack down Dodge city's Mayor is concerned about how it will impact our packing plants. Them seem to think we should a "large say" in the decision of the state because of our sanctuary status.

I'm an simply depressed as hell. Can our leaders care any less for the city? You would think they might at least try and hide it, but nooooo... they openly sell the locals down the river and where it proudly for the world to see.

"This is not about illegals." OK now just who is that meant to convince? sure not anyone from around here, because we clearly know it's all about illegals. My conservative guess is that at least half our new comers are illegals. Now before you get all bent think about this.

I'm talking about the original newcomers. Not all the legal anchor babies that now fill our schools. Not all the illegals that have married Americans to gain legals status. I'm talking the original immigrants that started the over population. I'd bet at least half were here illegally. So now that immigrants represent over half the population of dodge we're to say Oh Well! shit happens, and now we just need to put up with the smell.

You know, it's like saying Hey, sorry many of my employees are crack dealers, but what about their families? Should their families suffer just because they have flourished from crack dealing? The state wants to crack down on crack dealers but it would have a negative impact on our local economy because we rely on crack dealers to make a living.

Thats just so depressing to read on the threshold of a new life for our city. Like we can't survive without illegals and families. I feel so damn dirty now.

I'm just at a loss for words. "It's not about the illegals." Are we all walking around with STUPID stamped on our foreheads? It's all about the illegals. Thats why it's being addressed, finally, by the state in the first place.

I can't make as much money because my employees got arrested for dealing crack and now I've got to pay more for legal employees.

So you can't go to work because your Esculade got confiscated while your husband was dealing crack.

So you can't pay your rent because your daddy got put in jail for dealing crack.

I am telling you guys now....GET THE HELL OUT OF DODGE!!! Come on guys, you all know I was home bread and raised, along with all of my family. the best thing I ever done in my life is move from there. I talk to all my friends from the past and they say the same. They all are doing wonderful!!! They told me for years to leave but I would not listen; when I finally did I was so relieved.

As a DC girl to you....get out!

Hell Army I was not that bad. I just partied a little too hard and helped everyone else party as hard as I did. So I did not know when to stop. So I made some mistakes. At least I can admit it! I believe I paid my dues and then some. I am giving back to society 10x more. I may have had a bad rep by some in DC; however, Dodge City has a bad rep by MANY.

I am trying to help others by telling them how good it feels to get out of there. I think everyone in DC deserves better than what their leaders are doing for them. Is that so bad to say so Army? what is your ****ing prob?

What you fail to understand is that not everyone wants to leave or abandon their home or the place they grew up in. You sound like a scratched record...over and over...every other post..."get out"...That line is old and tired. Everyone KNOWS YOU got out. Congrats. Other people want to stay here and change the way things are instead of just leaving the community. Is that so bad Pootsy? What is your ****ing prob?

The only reason I didn't testify against you that one time, poot, was because the victim was too afraid to show up to court. It was a little more over the top than you make it out to be.

The prosecutor was pissed and actually said he's be sure to subpeona your next victim so he could get everyone there.

You all have the right and deserve to be happy. All this bullshit is taking away from alot of people of being truly happy. You want to fight for your rights because that is your home; however the leaders that you all voted for, or did not vote for have different ideas and do not give a rats ass what you all think. When you all accept the fact, you can all move on with your lives.

Acceptance is the key to all my problems today. When I am disturbed, it is because I find some person, place, thing, or situation---some fact of my life unacceptable to me, and I can find no serenity until I accept that person, place, thing, or situation as being exactly the way it is suppose to be at this moment. Nothing, absolutely nothing happens in God's world by mistake. I could not remain happy until I accepted like completely on life's terms. I needed to quit concentrating on what needs to be changed in the world as what needs to be changed in me and my attitudes.

this is something I think of everyday in my life to help me cope with issues. some of the wording has been left out as it is from the AA Big Book. Just so you all know.
