I know I was horseplaying and running around the gym, then all the sudden this big man came up and slapped me. I mean he slapped me good and hard. My whole side of my face was bright red. I was in shock.

He has unressolved issues from when he was in school. My dad tells me that he and many of the other kids used to pick on him in school. He says that Danny had thick pop-bottle eyeglasses and everyone teased him about them, my dad included. My dad would see him in school and tell him to go home- and he would. Not nice, I know. But maybe that is why he is so angry these days about what other people say.

I think its a crying shame that people FEAR giving their names in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Kinda ironic wouldn't you say.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Anonymity in politics was an important value of our founders. It's why they embraced the secret ballot, convened the Constitutional Convention in closed session, and wrote the Federalist Papers using pen names.

Anonymity in speech, IMO, has it place too, though standing behind what you write does too.

I agree.

I see the other side as well, but if you're going to go past a certain point to voice your opinion and putting someone else on the chopping block, I feel your name should be attached to it. It's only right that the other person is able to know who he's defending himself to (in my opinion). I also feel throwing comments of someones personal appearance for no reason is immature and serves no purpose. That's a 2nd grade approach when you've run out of things to say.

My feelings are, if you're in public service then opinions should be welcomed anonymous or not. On the other hand a personal attack should have the attackers name attached to carry any weight.

Maybe he is going for the "put up or shut up" notion.

Either way there are things in his opinion piece that I agree with also that worry me.
