| Super Delegates ....wtf I have never heard of a SD and I don't want to. I am totally losing my cool over this election crap.... Democrats WTF ...Republicans WTF. They have ALL figured a way to bend the people over and shove it in deep, and you don't even get a kiss. Why do we even bother to vote..... if the status quo is gonna be the deciding factor in a close election....I say TOSS A COIN ....that would be the fairest way. I don't know what it all means but it sounds underhanded. As my dear old Kentucky mother used to say " Something's rotten up the branch"...Im not sure what it means except SOMETHING STINKS. Democrats, you are losing me as even a possibility. Jeeeeeeeesus ! Democratic Superdelegates Someone please explain it to me I just don't get it. ![]() ![]()

| and here's a kicker... The super-delegates are party leaders and lawmakers, including all Democratic members of Congress and former presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton, as well as ex-vice president Al Gore. And it's not Republicans WTF when it comes to super delegates JW. The Republicans do not have a similar super-delegate system. They have a bit more sense than that. also... Kamarck sees the super-delegates as a “sort of safety valve” so that, for instance, “if the convention’s platform committee is adopting something that would be really detrimental in the general election,” the party leaders can take steps to prevent that from happening. But “it is very difficult to argue” that the super-delegate system “has consequences, unintended or intended,” said Mayer. To me it's the democratic party saying "If we don't like what YOU the voter are putting forward as a candidate...we can override the will of the people and back the other candidate." Maybe it doesn't read like that but it says the "platform committee" decides if that candidate is detrimental or not despite what the public wants. This is how the Dems roll. It's the same way with taxes. They believe they can spend your money better than you can that's why they raise taxes. GRRRRR

| I am at a total loss I don't trust McCain on the Immigration issues, and more and more is being revealed about him....... Believe it or not, the war is not at the top of my list of priorities. I HATE IT but that is mostly because of the treatment of the vets. They still get the $hitty end of the stick. The top of my list is Border security and illegals. Outsourcing jobs from Americans... I have no satisfaction from any of them on those issues. So I am still.......................... ![]() ![]()

| All this is why we need to abolish the 2 party system. Too bad folks can't run on thier own merit and actually win. It's the world we live in - but complaining doesn't change a thing. Too much money and favors floating around. Politics............. it's a business.

Where did you find that # Bubba? By Randall Mikkelsen and James Vicini WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Bush administration proposed new spending of more than $2 billion to tighten U.S. borders with fencing along the frontier with Mexico and add patrol agents and more beds for detained illegal immigrants. "A major priority of our president, and this department, and the American people is getting control of our borders," U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said in briefing reporters on his department's budget request to Congress for fiscal 2009. The budget year began on October 1. U.S. President George W. Bush proposed raising the department's budget by 6.8 percent to $50.5 billion. The 5-year-old department was created after the September 11 attacks to oversee domestic security and disaster response, and has struggled to integrate the 22 agencies put under its umbrella. Democrats accused the administration of trying to slash $2 billion in spending for state and local programs and aid to firefighters, even as it raised spending for other areas. "It's impossible to secure our nation without securing our communities first," said U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson of Mississippi, chairman of the House of Representatives Homeland Security Committee. Nearly one-fourth of the total budget request, or $12.14 billion, is spending for border security, up 19 percent from 2008. Illegal immigration has become a major issue in this year's presidential campaign, especially among Bush's fellow Republicans. Major border initiatives include $442 million to hire 2,200 new border patrol agents, bringing the total to 20,000 by September 2009. Bush is also seeking $46 million to provide 1,000 more beds for illegal immigrants who are detained, bringing the total to 33,000. The budget seeks $775 million to build more fencing along the southern border and install high-tech surveillance equipment and other infrastructure. Chertoff said 287 miles of fencing had been built so far, with a goal of 670 miles by this year. That would run most of the length of the border from the Pacific Ocean to the New Mexico-Texas border, except for natural barriers, he said. Continued... Other spending includes $3 billion for additional immigration enforcement and $100 million for an automated system to confirm the legality of new employees at the time of hiring. The extra money would add 88 agents and 82 attorneys to prosecute criminals and immigration violators, officials said. In addition, they said the threat of terrorism existed when criminals regularly exploited gaps in homeland security.
