D.C. Chamber of Commerce Banquet

Did anyone attend the Chamber of Commerce Banquet last Saturday night?

What were your thoughts?

I did not know anything about the banquet. So I have no comment.

When I was there, it seemed like we used to fill the Silver Spur Convention Center. I'd be interested to know how many were there and who the speaker was.

Since no one on DB went, I will give my view. This was attended quite well, as it has in the past. The bar was great (Casey's Cowtown) and the food was good. The entertainment, on the other hand, was disappointing. 3 individuals singing to recorded music. They were not bad, mind you, but the entertainment was merely a dance. A small dancefloor was constructed on the gym floor, mid stage area, and people could dance to the music from the 3 individuals.

My only disappointment was that I could get that kind of entertainment at any of the local bars (no offense, Vin). I just expected something different than this, as the past entertainment has been entertaining.

I look forward to next year's banquet. Hopefully, I will be better entertained.

Maybe the Chamber officials can be the entertainment next year, they can provide the same song and dance routine that they use to make Dodge City sound like it doesn't have the problems that it has.

See what happens? Actually, the Chamber banquets used to be pretty nice events with some great speakers. Who's planning them now? Try to get on that committee and see that changes are made for next year, BroncoFan.

How many tables did ya have? When I was there I sold the 2nd highest amount of tables and had a ball "dressin up" my company's table. I think the entertainment was a comdian that year............ ho hum. the event was in the convention center and it was to say the least an "uptown" event - Dodge has so few of those - it really was kinda fun!! Awwww the fond memories.

With the exception of my personal opinion of the entertainment, this was still a "Red Carpet" event. It is fun dressing up like a penguin once in a while. The Civic Center floor was filled with tables with great decor and freebies. There was a 20'x20' dance floor in front of center stage and there were three bars selling drinks, wine and beer.

yeah I had dresses from all my years of military "dining in", "dining out", and balls. I don't think Dodge has seen as many sequins since I left. LOL I used to have an ongoing sequin and glitz contest with your now gone 433 super ( I think that's what she did or she was with the college) .......... Davis I think was her name. A woman with hutzbah (even if I can't spell it), a sense of humor and a no nonsense black woman. Gee I liked her. LOL
