Yet for all of FDR's 'greatness' his policies more than likely deepened and extended the depression, yet the US Govt saw an unprecedented boom. It really wasnt until WW2 did we start getting out of the depression fully(really at the beginning of the US Military industrial complex of the Lend-Lease program). Now here soon another of FDR's grand schemes will come home to roost and bury us further, I suppose we will have to return to 91% top income tax rate to get out of this coming disaster. What we are going to experience in this current recession will be nothing like what is going to happen when the baby boomers retire en masse.

To tell the truth I don't pay too much attention to "liberal or conservative". I think it's all horseshit myself. While members of both parties are spending untold millions of dollars telling you their differences, they are merely trying to cover up their similarities, which far outweigh the former. At the end of a long hard day of bashing each other in front of the cameras, for the benefit of their "followers", they meet in the same saloons, drinking out of the same bottle, screwing the same women while conspiring new ways to steal as much of your and my money as possible.

What makes the whole fiasco even more pathetic is the way they sucker their "followers" into believing in them and their "ideals". They use language like liberal/conservative, black/white, straight/gay, Democrat/Republican, and similar nonsense to divide and conquer the electorate. While we're busy discussing who and what's right, they're having a party. And I don't mean a politcal party, I mean a P-A-R-T-Y! Witness the behavior of Eliot Spitzer, Larry Craig, Ted Stevens, David Vitter, Bill Clinton, and a whole host of others yet to be caught and it becomes all too apparent these fellas are indeed having a good time on our dime. Look at the above names and tell me their differences. I'll look at them and tell you their similarities.

I couldn't agree more 88-31-10. I've always said the biggest threat to America is not terrorist or even Democrats or Republicans, it's politicians period. Although Americans share the blame as well. If it wasn't for American party loyalty, politicians wouldn't be so free to screw Americans over.

I swear some party nuts are so loyal, I think they'd vote in Charles Manson if he were the only candidate for their party. Sad fact is our current candidates, like usual, are full of shit. We know they're only saying what we want to hear to be elected, and then they do what they want, yet like the sheep we are, we vote them in anyway.

Well the way our process is setup that wouldn't work. It just leaves the polls open to those who really don't give a shit about the country, and would vote for their party anyway. I think we need a [] None of the above.

If the None of the above beats out all other contenders, then it's basically tells the politicians, in the voice of Dean Snyder of Twisted Sister, We're not going to take it. A vote of none of the above should force a new set of candidates. It would send the message that we're tired of lying ball'less politicians worming their way into office. I imagine eventually we might actually end up with honest leaders in office.

But as long as we sheep are willing to say "Oh well, it's our best choice out of the scumbags." then it's going to remain politics as usual.
