Thought it be best that I ask what you all think about wind energy before I sign the lease on the Biggest Wind Farm in USA on ground I bought and PAID for. Seeing how my Ethanol was BAD and my Coal plants suck. What I am really trying to get accomplished through my energy investments is to have an taxable income like the poor boy from Chicago, bHo, did this year.

Dodge City is the windiest place in the USA. You might as well take advantage of it! Good, clean, renewable energy.

I don't understand what you're asking. Are you asking if you think it would be a good deal to lease your ground to put wind generators on it? If so, I would say yes that would be good for you.

Are you wanting to invest your own money to build a wind farm on your land? If that is what you're asking, then I would say probably not a good investment. The transmission lines in this area are just about maxed out and could not support any power from your wind generators, unless you are planning on building the transmission lines too. Then I hope you have some VERY DEEP pockets because that won't be cheap.

Right on Bubba...clean yes...Cheap and reliable NO....

One of the main reasons for wind power is to offset the coal plants and to make groups like the Sierra Club happy. For every megawatt of electricity a coal plant produces x% has to be "clean energy" so they build wind mills to offset it. I believe it actually costs more to build them because they do not produce as cheap electricity as coal. In the long run wind energy costs us more I would say but it makes aLgOre happy.

Thank the Sierra club etc for that.

They want absolute clean energy. While coal plants are not the cleanest they have take great strides in producing cleaner energy. The "earth" people don't want nuclear power, they don't want coal plants to be built etc....soon we will have triple electric bills which will hurt the average guy all the way to business's. Everything will cost more. There has to be some sort of balance.....I feel that the environmentalists put their agenda above everything else. They would see our economy destroyed but at least we would have cleaner air....Thank you environmentalist.

Solar is good. I studied a solar plant in Arizona/California area, and it could run an entire state. However, you have reliability problems just like wind (ie cloudy days).

The price to build either a coal fired plant or a wind farm are tremendously high. The big difference is the cost of fuel to run each plant. One is free. The other is not.
