These qualities of hospitality, patriotism and endurance are exactly what Californians need to hear about Pennsylvanians. And when he spoke to a group of his wealthier Golden State backers at a San Francisco fund-raiser last Sunday, Barack Obama took a shot at explaining the yawning cultural gap that separates a Turkeyfoot from a Marin County. "You go into some of these small towns in Pennsylvania, and like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them," Obama said. "And they fell through the Clinton Administration, and the Bush Administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

Obama made a problematic judgment call in trying to explain working class culture to a much wealthier audience. He described blue collar Pennsylvanians with a series of what in the eyes of creamy Californians might be considered pure negatives: guns, clinging to religion, antipathy, xenophobia.

A couple of members here have pleaded that we should listen to what Obama says. I do and the more I hear the better (choke) Hillary (gasp) Clinton starts to look. I didn’t think anyone could be worst than Hillary but I was mistaken. Did BO spend 20 years in Wright’s pews listening to hate speech because he was bitter and frustrated? What I see is a typical liberal elitist that holds his nose while pandering to the red blooded blue collar folks because he needs their votes.

Pay attention because you will likely see the same things posted here as we get told what BO really meant since we aren’t smart enough to have our own opinions. I want to say that I have had this unsettling view of Obama for awhile. What got me not to want to vote for him was when Oprah Winfrey stood by his side. I like Oprah; however, I feel the only reason she wants him to win is because he is black, Period. You would think she would be for Hillary because she is a woman and Oprah is kinda about empowerment of women ect...you know what I mean. It should be about the issues and who is the better candidate. Obama is not the better candidate. He is not ready to run this country. I would rather vote for Ross Perot. Hillary is the better candidate here and needs to win. John McCain is another republican who will do the same thing the other republicans did, no change. It is definately going to be a process to get this country back on its feet. It is not going ot happen in one day but I believe hillary will put a good dent in progress. I believe Hillary will run this country and do it very well. That is my opinion and I am sticking to it.
