Parents Fight Over Which Gang Toddler Should Join
Police: Mother A Crip, Father A Westside Baller

Joseph Manzanares was charged with disorderly conduct, harassment and
domestic violence for a fight with his girlfriend inside a Hollywood video store.


COMMERCE CITY, Colo. -- A couple fighting about which gang their 4-year-old toddler should join caused a public disturbance that resulted in the father's arrest, Commerce City police said Thursday.
On Saturday, Joseph Manzanares stormed into the Hollywood Video store where his girlfriend worked, threatened to kill her and knocked over several video displays and even a computer, Commerce City police Sgt. Joe Sandoval said.
After he ran out of the store, police were called and the 19-year-old was arrested at his home.

His girlfriend told police that they had been arguing about the upbringing of their son and which gang he should belong to. The teen mother, who is black, is a member of the Crips. Manzanares is Hispanic and belongs to the Westside Ballers gang, the woman said.
"They have different ideas on how the baby should be raised. Basically, she said they cannot agree on which gang the baby would 'claim,'" Sandoval said.
Manzanares was charged with disorderly conduct, harassment, and domestic violence. He was transported to the Adams County Detention Facility.
On Tuesday, he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was sentenced to a year of probation. The misdemeanor harassment charge was dropped.

SERIOUSLY though...this is just a snapshot of how inane our society has become. These people probably don't contribute much to our society and what's worse yet they have reproduced. What chance do you think that child has of being successful?

Exactly... The poor kid is only 4, maybe they should worry about what school he's going to be going to next year or maybe a college fund or something!

College fund? That kid probably won't be in school past the 8th grade. I know I'm stereotyping but come on...look at the situation...and people wonder why over 50% of kids drop out in some cities.

If he's lucky to even make it to the 8th grade, with parents like that he'll probably be a victim of a drive by before he's 8.

Especially since the good Pro Birth crowd makes sure all these babies are born and then do everything they can to cut any program that might help them pull themselves up out of the gutter.

You mean programs like subsizing their lottery tickets and drugs?

Do you think if you gave this particular couple...say a thousand dollars a month they would "pull themselves up from the gutter"? You are kidding yourself if you think that.

I'm all for giving the people money who need it, but I agree with Army, if it only goes for drugs or alcohol I think they can manage on their own. Everyone needs a little help from time to time, but to get into a fight over what gang your child is going to be in, come on give me a break.

I disagree...a LOT but not all people need some help from time to time but I would guess that there are many Americans that have never collected any entitlement money from Uncle Sugar.
