I've been on a diet for a month and a half now. Lost 35 pounds so far.

Then I bet you're even CUTER!

I just got back on my diet after shooting my brother in law's wedding this past weekend and I know it's not easy. My assistant had to do the family pics and I saw what I look like from another perspective other than the lying mirror.

So if you need to channel that energy I'm not too concerned. I've got thick skin and plenty of it!

Started April 1st and was 263, Size 36

Today, May 16th 227, Size 34

Goal, 195 (my highschool weight), Size 32 -By end of summer

I'm 6'2" so that would put me at my ideal weight.

I started out running on the treadmill at night- could only run off 50 calories before I dropped dead. Been doing it every night. Now, I'm up to 500 calories- that's 5 miles, which takes about two hours, non-stop. I am feeling much better already. Before, It would take me about 10 minutes before my heart rate went back to normal. Now, Its back to normal in about 90 seconds. Feels good to be getting back in shape in my 40's.

My height tends to hide my true weight. I've been between 240-265 for the last two years.

MENU:
Bowl of Raisin Bran for breakfast
Three fruits for lunch
Supper usually consists of baked fish or chicken with steamed veggies, or a sandwich on whole wheat or rye bread w/mustard and a salad.

Amounts to about 800-1000 calories a day.

MY RULES
No sugar, pop, or sweet items. No fried food, potato's, or red meat. Lots of water throughout the day.

If I get a sweet tooth I either have a fruit popsicle which only has 30 calories, or a fat free yogurt, 80 calories.

I take a break from the diet on one day per week (sat), to shock my metabolism back to normal, and to keep from becoming hyper-efficient.
I can eat out once on Saturday, but all other meals come from home, so I take a sack-lunch with me on the road each day with three fruits and 2 bottles of water.

Most experts say it's a good idea to take one day per week to eat more freely, but sensibly. Helps to keep the cravings down too.

A good diet starts at the grocery store...buying lots of veggies and fruit, and reading the labels to avoid sodium, fat and sugar.

Another thing that has worked for me is my self imposed rule that TV accompanies the treadmill. If I'm watching the tube, I'm walking/jogging/running too.

I feel so much better. Even things like putting on my shoes are easier. No grunts or holding my breath!
