Was in the office of my pardener in the utv business this morning when a lady walked in accompanied by two men of obivuos mexican heritage, to inquire about houseing rentals. She asked if either of us spoke spanish or if there was someone who did. When told that neither of us did and that there was no one there that did she told us that was rotten. To which my pardner replied that he was american and didn't know he was required to speak spanish. She then explained she worked for cargill in there relocation dept. If this is their attitude that we should bend over backward for these people then the next time they threaten to leave town if we don't give them tax breaks I will help them pack!!!!!

Just a few quick questions.

First off, What is "obivuos mexican heritage"?

Second, Wasn't Cargill bringing in Puerto Ricans as part of there recruitment? And even though they are a US territory, isn't their main language spanish?

hugz had they been puerto rican they would have had no need for an interperter as english is taught from the first grade. english is the main language in puerto rico as it is part of america.

english is a difficult language to learn and only the very intelligent can use and speak it.
My multi-lingual parents (both raised by naturalized parents) taught us
to only speak english and to buy american-made products
just ignore anything else it has always gone away
