| .... and I always thought that your supermarkets provided such good customer service, far better than what we receive in Britain. When I was over on Colorado at Christmas/New Year and went shopping to Target & Fresh Food (I believe that was what it was called), I couldn't understand a number of things: 1) why the supermarkets were always so empty of shoppers, (and it was leading up to Christmas)? 2) why I couldn't buy a bottle of alcohol in a supermarket, (had to go to a liquor store)? 3) amazed at how the fruit & veg is kept so neat, even watched a member of staff line up all the apples neatly! 4) was very impressed by the knowledge of a person serving on the cheese counter about the different cheeses on display - he seemed to really have an interest in his counter (I think it was Fresh Food)

The bathrooms are particularly disgusting, no matter what day of the week you go there. I never thought about using the self-serve registers as a way to skip the human ones, but that's a good idea. It's just my luck that when I want to use those, that's when there are 4 people with two full carts each of items without barcodes on them. Congrats Highwayman on being Walmart free for so long! I've tried to go cold turkey, but there's always that one little thing that I think I need now that I can't find anywhere else. I try to get out, but they keep pulling me back in! (that's my bad Al Pacino imitation) |

| Binky not all places have liquor stores. Up here in Iowa we do sell alcohol in our supermarkets. And yes you had a good shopping experience in Target I believe that but next time you are over here be wary of Wal-Mart stores.

| This will make you UPCHUCK! Talking about public restroom at wal=mart! I had an experience that would make anyone just puke! I had to use the restroom that is in the back of wal-mart. I entered and the first thing that hit me, was the smell! There was no mistaking the smell, as it was the smell of SHIT! (sorry)! The next thing that I noticed, was that a younger Mexican male had the trash can in front of the stall he was using. I thought that this was really strange, and hurried getting rid of my number 1! As I was standing in front of the sinks, washing my hands I noticed that this person was wiping his ass, and instead of putting the tissue into the toilet, he was doing a very poor job of placing this into the trash container! (Most, if not all of the tissue ended up on the floor!) The stench was overpowering so I hurried out of there! I went to the layaway desk, and informed the Mexican female of what was going on in the restroom and she should call someone to clean up this nasty mess. She looked at me, and with no hesitation informed me that this is how it was done in Mexico! I continued to stand there waiting for the punch line that never came. After a few moments, I then asked her which city, state and country that we were in! Her answer was "*******"! My utter disbelief and contempt was quite obvious yet I kept my mouth shut. She continued to stare at me, then turned around and went into the back! I continued to stand there in complete amazement at what just transpired! When I could finally get my feet to work, I sought out management and informed this young man of what had happened and the response I had gotten from the clerk! I then informed him of the health issues that this presented to the public and that I would probably be getting in touch with the health dept. informing them of what had occurred. He told me that he would get someone right on it and that signs would be posted in the restrooms informing people that this could no longer be done! It has been a couple of months, and I have gone into that same restroom a couple of times, and have not seen one sign posted anywhere in it. And, the trash cans still has streaks of human waste on them! And to make matters even worse, I see many diapers on the streets that have obviously thrown out of vehicles. I guess some people seem to think that it is OK to trash our stores and our streets and city. No wonder this "tourist" town has very little tourists visiting here! I know that I would not! I have been told on more than one occasion that this is their culture! My answer is, it may be the culture of Mexico, but it is not the culture of the United States of America! If culture means so much to some of them, then by all means go back to where you have come from! Just my thoughts! |

| Well it sounds to me like B.A.U. Are you guys sure that you are still part of the U.S?...Maybe Sebelias succeeded from the union and joined Mexico...and didn't tell anyone..LOL Its true about the toilet paper.... they never put it in stool... probably because in Mexico they actually do not have flush toilets... Its not just Mexico tho... its a lot of the South American countries. The truth of the matter is, that it is a huge health problem, and should be treated as such by these so called managers.... I need to research all the infectious diseases that are feces borne. I think salmonella is one but not sure... A scary thing is ... do all the employees even wash their hands after wiping?...not only the food handlers but any handling of merchandise. I have often thought of this especially at food places......oh well ... what we don't know wont hurt us ...will it...????
