I should provide an update from the original rant: Quote:
Now, the downside of this mini-saga is that these companies hide/mask/cover any idea that the shopper is about to unknowingly click on a window that is part of the intended websites page.
In my case it was the block that directed you to the checkout page. The atty found that out while he was doing his research. Slick huh?
The first window clears and another identical one opens asking the same question. So, you click again. That first click allows the scamming company to link to the websites data, which they are aware of by the way, and offers your creditcard data and address information.
Now what the Fed says about this is that it is for now "legal" for these companies to do so. So much for cow toes.
The state is saying the same thing. I called a few minutes ago and was a little surprised to hear that nothing will be done until some politician gets a pant load and they have to pass another law.
If this keeps up, I'll have to ask to move this thread to another forum.
The following is/was tanken off consumerwebwatch. The companies they discuss are indeed one in the same as the one I'm talking of, just another holding.
One thing I have done this morning, is cancelled all dealings with Amazon, Carol Wright gifts, MSN music, MSN and a few others that align themselvs with these bottom feeding theives. I made sure that my comments were explicit and truthful. We'll see to the future. But, I doubt that anything else will be done.
Final take for the day on this is, I'm beginning to think the Porn Industry has higher business standards than companies like AOL, MSN, etc. At least the Porn suppliers know where the screwing should be done, and who not to do it to. http://www.consumerwebwatch.org/dyna...webloyalty.cfm |
