| Bubba, I think with those you don’t really adopt the kid but just contribute to a charity.

| I claimed my mom for years.... All you need to do is show > 51% contribution to whoever. If they have income and can file they still need to file as well. My mom didn't file cause of her income so it was easy to do. Just keep the reciepts just in case they ever come knockin at your door. She never lived with me full time - some years she was there while she was recouperating but she always went back to her apt when she could. I didn't have to stop claiming her till she moved to "full time care". I couldn't do 51% of 3,000 a month plus meds and such.................it is leagal and it doesn't surprise me a bit that illegeals with #'s are claimin family. Don't ya think someone is claimin those 10 people multifamily households???? It's like a legal.... snow white and the 7 dwarfs......... hell they probably follow the rules more than some of our own do - truth be known!

| No belchin, scratchin, "clearin the store out behavior" allowed. LOL LOL - Other than that we could use a tax deduction!!! Hell don't have anything but my cat (Oscar) and he's so damn independent he'd tell the IRS if we claimed him.........LOL

| Well, we lost our last dependent too. We ended up the year last year paying quite a bit. So much that there was a penalty for under-estimating the taxes. So this year, we both withheld at the single rate plus $100 per paycheck. Hopefully, it won't hurt so much again. We complained all year long about medical bills - thank God for health insurance and the hubby's military retirement medical insurance - seemed like our part was pretty high, but still not high enough to deduct. Is it 7% or 10% of your gross income? Seems like you get a raise at work and all it does it raise your taxes - you don't really get much of a raise at all. Still try to keep a smiley face, though!

| I lost my dependant this year too. Sure makes a big difference on the old refund. But that helped my son get more back this year.
