What bothers me the most is we seem to be sending the message you can break the law and get away with it IF you have a large group.

I learned there are a lot of em and a lot em that don't give a rats ass bout any of this cause they followed the rules. Mostly I saw kids......... yep kids..... fronted out by thier folks.......... and kids that had the American flag UPSIDE DOWN............. they looked stupid, unorganized, and just lookin for a beer drinkin, bitchin, day off............. I think May 5th otta be cancelled. enough of the "brown" holidays......... gimme MLK day any day....... hell at least they gots BBQ and melon!!

My understanding is that Dodge does not have a required march permit. You have to give plenty notice before, but do not have to have a permit. As for your comments Lone G - I was in the park helping deal with the situation. They were told we did not have the man power on the spur of the moment. The decisions made were the right ones for EVERYONES safety. Especially the city as a whole. It is easy to sit back and blame everyone else without even knowing all the details. LordFouls is right. Our job is to protect and serve, even if that decision is difficult for us to do sometimes. We cant just pick and choose. Hope that helps...

Maybe someone can answer this for me.

I had a bit of an altercation at Wal*Mart with an illegal. He was flying a Mexican Flag on his antenna with an American flag upside down below it. As I walked by I tore the American flag off and told him I wouldn't stand for our flag to be displayed that way.

After a few words about breaking the law he told me with a straight face that illegals didn't need to obey American laws because he's not a citizen. I was a a loss for words because for all I know this could be true. When they break the law they usually get deported not sent to jail.

So is this the case? Are these illegals able to jump the boarder get false ID's and SS#'s apply for government assistance get their kids schooled for free and they aren't bound by our laws because they aren't citizens?

If its not the case then someone needs to clue these clowns in. If it is the case then that just F**ck'd UP.

Let me say...... I am not, nor was I, comparing MLK to Boycott America. They are 2 different things. If you had read any of my posts you would see that this is a continuation of a long, long, conversation of opinions.

It's easy to jump in the middle of a conversation - we all do it. It is wiser though to read posts of someone before you make an assumtion about what ONE posts means.

First - I am old enough to have been a part of the civil rights movement. I hardly doubt if I could ever confuse the two.................. Just a clarification.

Second - MLK day in the deep south IS a BBQ holiday. Yeah there are parades and such but the holiday is no longer about civil rights - it barely is about celebrating MLK. Kinda what we have done with July 4th. We all talk the talk but very few of us take to the streets and celebrate our independence. Could be cause it's goin down the drain at this point. Could be cause the majority of us would rather sit by the beach and BBQ.

If that’s the case Detector, we’re all going to be in shock. I don’t believe it for a minute.

You could have pointed out that if he felt that he was exempt from our laws that he would also be exempt from the protection of our laws. That would mean that we could hunt them down at will, beat them, lynch them and rape their women. Maybe he’d change his mind about being exempt from our legal system.

First, I commend you for your action!! I give you many sincere thanks for taking action where I could not.

Second, there are many illegals in our jails serving time for broken laws. They still serve the time and then instead of being released into society after time served they are deported after time served.

Third, I didn't know that you spoke Mexican.
