OK now whats wrong with this story?

Illegals plan to march May 17th to Washington to LOBBY for amnesty.

Sounds like a good place to have ICE/INS. The illegals are already rounded up for them. Lets see what our justice system will do (or tolerate).

At least they'll be in Washington crowding their streets and not here crowding our streets again. Their last march was a mess. I had to detour to get back to work because they were on Central and Military, I had a heck of a time getting into the parking lot to get back to work.

Ah, I'm sorry if this sounds tacky, but I mighta had to go back to work with one of 'em stuck in the grill of the old Vdub. The city should have taken a stand and kicked their butts to kingdom come.

If you only knew how much I wanted to but unfortunately they were surrounded by officers and I really don't want to have to go sit in jail (since ours is not the cleanist)!!

I don't remember who originally posted this idea but:
How'z about amnesty after 4 years of 'voluntary' US Military service?
Included in the Naturalization ceremony is a "swearing" to take-up arms to defend the United States so let's just put the horse in front of the cart.

Included in that service should be a course on respect of the US Flag.

Having served in the Military, the last person I want beside me is one who is forced to be there. I never see making people be policeman, fireman, emergency room personel, political aides or any other service as a requirement, so why is it always the military? Why not make them just sit in a prison for 4 years? How does making someone do something they do not want, or are qualified to do, the right course?
Want to be an American citizen? Then pass the background check, take the required courses, be on a probationary period (2 to 4 years) and whatever else.

I hear ya!!!!

In Israel they apparently let anyone come in but they are required to spend 4 years in what they term "Immersion"....... it's a 4 year class in customs, culture, history, and yes LANGUAGE!!........ you can't be a non natural Isreali without it..... sounded intersting...........

But then last night on the news I saw where Clear Creek is offering "Immersion" classes to children........... non spanish speaking and non english speaking............ its goal is to have bilingual children by the time they are 4................ gotta try to find the story to post it...........

On another note I do have a friend that just had a baby........ he's now 6 months old........ they are from Spain......... legally from Spain......... they only speak spanish to him. Most of thier friends feel that they will learn english in day care, school etc........ I don't agree with that but that's what they are doing. She speaks english - in fact was our translator at our clinic and is a pharmacist by trade - her hubby is in research - so they are educated people........ they were so afraid that they could not teach thier children "proper" english cause they feel they don'tspeak english well. Maybe it's a european thing but lots of thier european friends over here on visas feel the same way.................. just an insight to how some folks look at the language thing...........
