Pretty good Wordie......... but 2 weeks is a joke. They will barely have thier equip. unloaded before it's time to go home...... they won't have a "grasp" on anything. Each unit will want it's own equip.......... so any one comming from Chicago will barely get situated and bam they are gone. The fact that troops will only be logistical support bothers me. I didn't hear him say that there would actually be 6000 troops "at one time"....... course I didn't hear him say "2 week rotations" either........... there's just a lot I didn't hear him say.

I don't like the democrats plan any better.............. but I think yours has potential................. that otta blow it right outta the water............ I don't think the hill has any plan to work to fix the issues............. cryin shame ain't it?................ folks along the border are gonna wind up fixin the issues as they see them................

I say it's time for audits........... I like that!! but till there is a way to verify doccumentation............... what's the point? XL sure feels like everyone of thier employees are legal. They come there with papers...... XL doesn't feel it's thier job to police the doccumnetation............ it's just a mess........

More reaction to the Presidents speech.

I’d be laughing at this if I didn’t know better.

Quote:
CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico - Mexico said Tuesday that it would file lawsuits in U.S. courts if National Guard troops on the border become directly involved in detaining migrants.

Mexican border officials also said they worried that sending troops to heavily trafficked regions would push illegal migrants into more perilous areas of the U.S.-Mexican border to avoid detection.
More story......

That'd be great if they want to play legal hardball with the United States public (opinion) cuz it will further alienate the illegal aliens, and their position.

It's stuff like this that just ticks folks like me off....... who are they to tell us how to protect our borders........ I think we should file suit against them for not protecting thier own borders. This is gettin downright outragious. This is why people feel deportation of 12 million ain't such a bad idea......... We send them enough aid...... the least they could do is provide oportunity to thier citizens. Thier failure is not our responsibility....... course we all know that but continue to get the life sucked out of us cause we are a "humane" nation. Again.........NO guest worker, NO amnestiy, NO social programs .......... secure borders and punishment for the greedy agriculture and service indistry......... I'll pay more for stuff ....... I'd rather do that than be held hostage by some punk ass country like mexico.

Texie, it ain't the employeer's job to enforce immigration policy. Gubbermint shoves too much of its own responsibility on us now. Weeds growing from under your fence is a mutual problem of the fence owners.

It is the employers responsibility to make sure they are within the law. They are subject to the fine.......... but ya need a resonable way to check the documents.......... which is the responsibility of the govt to make meeting thier law obtainable......... hence a data base. Too many flea markets that can duplicate for $15. IMHO...... employers are part of the problem....... they wanna keep prices low and will knowingly break the law to do it just by not checking documents. It's just a "social" responsibility to me. I have worked with nurses with documents and they weren't nurses....... those fines are pretty hefty......... I don't think other business ought to be excused by claimin "stupid"...........

The birth of capitalism precisely marks the bubonic plague. Why? Because the plague reduced the labor supply from serfdom (abundance) into a severe labor shortage.

We'll never gain a balance by punishing capital; only by reducing labor will a balance be achieved.

I believe there is room to do both............ Everyone has some blame in this. No one is innocent........ not the crossers, not the businesses that hire. The onlly ones that actually to me are probably not at blame are the humanitarians........ altho they ARE a big part of the problem. To exclude ONE group is being rather blind to a possible solution. Everyone has a part.

Don't leave out the humanitarians...in my view, by them leaving these watering stations in the desert and whatnot, is just encouraging them to keep breaking the law and crossing the border because they now have help to get across the border by having water to drink.

I hope that makes a little sense, I am tired from working all night and am now going to bed.
