| Bruce @ McDonalds - 19 years I'm not sure many will know or remember Bruce McKinney; but I heard that he's been working there for 19 years and counting. Bruce is a special guy and always a hard worker with a bright attitude.... and usually more "aware" than most of the counter help when I'm in there. Anyhoo, I doubt that the Globe will ever acknowledge him; but I do and the DodgeBoard is the best place to dew/due/do do B do B dooooo it.

| I acknowledge him!! I know Bruce and worked with him many many years ago at the Silver Spur. The guy is ALL WORK and no play. He rides a bike everywhere he goes. He works 3 jobs. He lives with his father though he is about 45-50 years old. His mom died of cancer about 2 years ago. He is awesome and always has a smile on his face. I always make it a point to talk with him and he enjoys talking about old times. Although he is slightly mentally retarded, he works better than anyone else in the joint- wait a minute... He works harder than anyone I know!!! His brother is also retarded and a "worker" like Bruce. Their parents taught them both how to work and get by in life on very little. Bruce is an inspiration for all handicapped and even those that aren't. He is a very special person and I admire him immensely! My hat is off to Bruce. If you happen to go to McDonalds, extend him a freindly "Hello" or a "Good Job!", he appreciates the good words. He will be the guy that is working mopping floors, cleaning the tables and windows and bathrooms- that place would be a mess without him. I wish the globe would do a story on him as well.

| I'm thinkin' I know Bruce. He's been there forever; hopefully he'll be there for another forever. I think he was in High School the same time I was. Good kid, never a bad word about/to anybody that I heard. And yes, always a smile of that face. At that time, we just thought it was goofy. I've grown up a lot since then and now I know it's sincere. Good job, Bruce!

| I have seen him many times, scrubbing the tile grout with a toothbrush. Also, he used to clean the parking stalls at the Sonic in the mornings. He definitely seems to be a hard worker! Congratulations to him!! I hope his employers appreciate him, and do not try to take advantage of the man! |

| I also know Bruce. For me he's easy to remember, my fathers name was Bruce. I first met him in 1991 at Cliff Bones' old dance hall. I think it was call the Long Horn. I was standing at the bar enjoying a cold beer on a sat. nite and he was standing next to me drinking Pepsi. At the time I didn't know he worked at McDonalds. I told him he should go ask someone to dance. He said he didn't know how to dance. So I convinced a female friend of mine to teach him. It was an enjoyable evening. I still say hello to Bruce whenever I go to McDonalds. A very good man with a work ethic that is second to none! I also wish the Globe would do a story about him, because so many people know him as a dedicated employee. We need more people like him! |
